## Admissions

Software Engineering is a 4-year English-taught undergraduate programme in School of Software Engineering. This route requires the programme-specific CSCA subjects.

- International applicant with the required prior qualification and authentic, valid application documents.
- Graduating high-school student or holder of a senior high-school diploma, physically and mentally healthy; under 18 by 1 September 2027 needs guardian authorisation and a legal guardian’s guarantee in China.
- TOEFL 80, IELTS 5.5 or Duolingo 110, or an equivalent certificate recognised by HUST.
- Previous Chinese/English-medium education qualifies for the guide’s language-certificate exemption; recognised evidence is subject to university review.
- CSCA Mathematics and Physics score report is required for this English route; the current table does not mark a professional Chinese exam for English programmes.
- Applicable former-Chinese/nationality cases need foreign citizenship before 30 April 2023 and at least two years abroad during 1 May 2023–30 April 2027, under MOE Document12 (2020).

Steps:

1. Register at admission.hust.edu.cn, select the exact programme and upload the academic documents.
2. Pay the non-refundable CNY800 application fee within the applicable deadline.
3. Complete school academic review and any additional assessment requested.
4. After passing academic review, upload the non-academic documents as instructed and await the formal admission decision.
5. Follow the admission notice and JW form for the confirmed registration arrangements.
