## Admissions

Duke’s MS in Medical Physics lasts 21 months over four semesters and one summer, combining coursework, clinical practica and projects. The DKU-China and DKU-Durham plans have different middle-period locations, with the final spring in China. Radiation therapy, imaging and nuclear medicine are internal tracks.

Programme, citizenship and approved study-location conditions determine eligibility.

- Hold the equivalent of a US bachelor degree from an accredited institution.
- Physics graduates need the specified chemistry, biology, electronics and programming courses in addition to basic and upper-level physics.
- Natural-science, mathematics or engineering graduates need two calculus courses, two calculus-based general-physics courses and three upper-level physics courses.
- The non-physics route also needs chemistry, biology, electronics and programming. Additional courses may address deficiencies after programme review.
- Submit transcripts, statement, CV and three recommendations. A combined GPA of at least 3.2/4 is generally expected.
- Non-native English thresholds: TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS 7 or Duolingo 125. Apply under the stated procedure for any qualifying English-study waiver.
- GRE is optional. Assigned academic English courses must be passed; confirm current English-score validity and waiver timing with admissions.
- Select the study-location plan by its deadline. The admission/scholarship offer determines the approved China or Durham arrangement.

- Year 2 spring — DKU or approved China project location (English): All students complete the final spring in China. Total duration 21 months. Tracks and projects do not create separate degrees or a clinical licence.
