## Who can apply

- Availability: restricted
- Eligible: Applicants meeting the programme-specific qualification and admission-category conditions
- Restriction: Accepted school combinations: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology; OR Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with one of Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Home Science, Agriculture, Horticulture or Environmental Science.
- Restriction: The qualification and marks above describe the Tamil Nadu general academic counselling route. ICAR national counselling and special quotas have their own category allocation and document requirements.
- Restriction: Course and campus cannot be transferred after admission; the allotted constituent college determines attendance and residence.
- Restriction: The campus/course has an NRI quota. The candidate must be an NRI, ward or close direct relative of an NRI, with sponsor passport/visa, Indian Embassy NRI proof and notarised relationship affidavit. OCI/residence or employment documents alone are not accepted as NRI proof. Confirm nativity and nationality applicability before choosing that route.
- Restriction: The 2026 campus/course seat table includes Study in India places for foreign students through ICCR. Exact foreign qualifying-subject equivalence, nomination and tuition category require the written foreign offer; domestic criteria and fees are not automatically applicable.

Apply through the exact course and campus/category route. An available foreign or special quota does not establish that every applicant is eligible.

## Admissions

B.Tech. (Food Technology) — Self Supporting is a four-year, eight-semester constituent-college course at AEC & RI, Coimbatore. Choose this exact course, campus and teaching language during TNAU counselling; an affiliated-college seat is a different choice.

Apply the degree or school-subject requirements, marks, applicant category and selection route together. The precise alternatives and restrictions are part of eligibility.

- Pass every subject in a recognised 10+2 academic examination with the programme’s required subject combination.
- General counselling: Tamil Nadu nativity; applicants who studied Classes 10–12 in Tamil Nadu may enter the Open category with valid proof.
- Four-subject aggregate: OC 55%; BC/BCM 50%; MBC/DNC 45%; SC/SCA/ST a pass in all required subjects.
- On 1 July 2026, age must be below 21; no age limit for SC/SCA/ST and five years relaxation for differently abled applicants.
- Qualifying-exam attempts: up to three for SC/SCA/ST and two for other communities. Additional subjects and grace marks do not enter ranking.
- Selection uses the eligible school-subject aggregate and counselling; no separate TNAU undergraduate entrance examination.

1. Register in TNAU’s joint UG application portal and choose the exact TNAU constituent college, course and medium.
2. Upload qualifying subject marks and identity, nativity and relevant category records; pay the applicable application fee.
3. Participate in the specified counselling route, accept the allotment, pay the required amount and attend original-certificate verification.
4. Complete the allotted college’s joining and semester registration instructions; arrange accommodation and the full mandatory fee budget.
