## Admissions

Ph.D. Agricultural Extension Education combines disciplinary coursework and thesis research. Regular doctoral registration has a three-year minimum and seven-year maximum under the 2025 rules; completion depends on research requirements. TNAU assigns coursework and research locations.

Apply the degree or school-subject requirements, marks, applicant category and selection route together. The precise alternatives and restrictions are part of eligibility.

- Qualifying study must follow 10+2+4+2: a four-year farm-science/allied bachelor’s plus a two-year master’s degree.
- The prescribed degree must be from a State Agricultural University, ICAR institute, Central Agricultural University or Government-aided agricultural college.
- Master’s OGPA at least 7.00/10.00; this same rule applies to ICAR-allotted candidates.
- Use the programme-specific qualifying degree alternatives below; a similarly named general science or business degree is not automatically accepted.
- Selection is through the TNAU subject entrance examination, held physically at Coimbatore: one hour, 100 marks (75 subject, 15 general agriculture, 10 aptitude).
- Final-semester applicants may upload completed-semester records, but must present the degree/provisional certificate at admission.

Steps:

1. Apply through TNAU’s School of Post Graduate Studies doctoral portal and select the eligible research discipline.
2. Upload the required qualifying records and category documents; initial scrutiny determines entrance-test eligibility.
3. Attend the prescribed one-hour subject entrance examination at Coimbatore and complete the university’s selection process.
4. After selection, pay by the notified deadline, surrender original documents and register for the semester at the assigned campus.

- Document: Qualifying degree/provisional certificates and complete bachelor’s transcripts and master’s transcripts
- Document: Transfer or migration certificate and conduct certificates: institution head and two professors from the last institution
- Application document: Photograph, signature, identity proof and online fee-payment receipt
- Application document: Applicable e-community, nativity and district Medical Board disability certificates, as required for the claimed category
The 2026–27 doctoral brochure plans first-semester registration for 22 December 2026, after admission/payment on 21 December. The current university notice extends applications to 31 October 2026. Later schedules and future cohorts require their own notice.
