## Admissions

Transport Planning and Management is a three-year international master English option in SMU’s current 2027 portfolio. The current catalogue and separately verified English-option evidence define the route; faculty review applies.

- Bachelor degree or above, age under 35, good health; current faculty assessment applies.
- Former Chinese citizens applying as international students need at least four years of foreign passport/nationality evidence and at least two years of residence abroad, with individual document review.
- Provide IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80 or Cambridge English B2+ obtained within two years, or an accepted exemption: native English, relevant prior English-medium education, or SMU-approved equivalent evidence.
- Two recommendations from professors/associate professors with contact details. A supervisor-intention letter may be submitted for priority consideration; it is not mandatory or an admission document.
- Bring original paper qualifications and supporting records at registration; missing/inconsistent originals can cancel admission.

Steps:

1. Choose an independently supported English route and confirm the faculty, campus, exact award and programme-specific conditions.
2. Apply through the official SMU international portal at http://gjy.shmtu.edu.cn/login; upload accurate records and the required application-fee receipt.
3. The university reviews documents, then applicants who pass attend a preliminary interview and the admitting college’s interview; other assessments may be required.
4. Scholarship applicants follow the applicable separate procedure; CGS masters also apply through the official CSCsystem. Funding is competitive and not guaranteed.
5. Follow the admission/pre-admission notice for the exact visa, registration and original-document verification process; reserve accommodation with the university when applying.
