## Why students choose it

- English is the medium of instruction across programmes, and Amity requires English at Class XII level rather than any local-language qualification.
- Foreign applicants are charged the Sponsored fee category, and Amity's foreign-applicant admissions page states that all international students are granted a 50 per cent scholarship for the entire duration of the course.
- The university is accredited by the WSCUC in the United States, with the most recent commission action in February 2023, and met all ten ESG standards in QAA's 2023 International Quality Review with no conditions set.

## Things to consider

- Applications from foreign nationals for the 2026 cycle close on 30 June 2026, well before the late-August deadlines Amity publishes for general applicants at its other campuses.
- Only one scholarship or concession can be held at a time and the higher of the two applies, so the 50 per cent international scholarship cannot be stacked on an IB, A Level, SAT, ACT, JEE or CLAT award.
- Published figures are first-semester fees that rise by approximately 5 per cent each year, and an academic year is two semesters, so the headline number is neither an annual nor a total cost.

## Best fit for

- Applicants who want an English-taught Indian degree in computing, management, law or design without routing through a national entrance test such as JEE Main or CLAT.
- International Baccalaureate, Cambridge A Level, SAT or ACT candidates whose scores fall inside Amity's published first-year merit-scholarship bands.
- Graduates targeting an Indian MBA who already hold a GMAT, CAT, XAT, NMAT, MAT or CMAT score at or above the Sponsored-category threshold.

## Campus and city

The Noida campus occupies 60 acres in Sector 125 and has been in operation since the 2005-06 academic session. Sports provision on site includes a swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, a 20-lane indoor shooting range, a riding academy, basketball, badminton and volleyball courts and cemented cricket pitches. Everyday facilities include a bookshop, food courts, a departmental store, a gym, medical inspection rooms, underground parking, a laundry and a counselling centre. QAA's 2023 review recorded 17 Faculties of Studies containing 104 institutions and over 45,000 students across the university's campuses.

Noida sits in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, inside the Delhi National Capital Region, and the university's postal address is Sector 125, Noida 201313. Arrivals are routed through Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi: Amity runs a free pick-up from the international terminal to the student's accommodation for newly arriving first-year international students, booked at least one week in advance through the Dean Student Welfare office. Living in Noida as a foreign national also carries obligations set nationally rather than by the university. India's Bureau of Immigration requires registration with the jurisdictional FRRO or FRO within 14 days of arrival where a student visa is valid for more than 180 days, and Amity's prospectus notes that the FRO charges a penalty equivalent to US$30 for late registration even though registration itself is free. A student visa does not permit employment or business activity in India, and holders are required to open a Non-Resident Ordinary bank account and report its details to the FRRO.

Practical content is written into the degree structure rather than added around it. The B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering curriculum carries credited Internship-I in semester three and Internship-II in semester five alongside laboratory-based core courses, and every undergraduate takes a four-part Foreign Business Language sequence choosing from Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Sanskrit or Spanish. All B.Tech programmes other than the Evening, 3 Continent and International variants include a five-week Study Abroad Programme at no additional tuition fee, and the two-year MBA carries the same five-week option. Non-Teaching Credit Courses and career-aspiration courses are separately credited, and a Non-Teaching Credit Course Review Committee sits in the university's formal committee structure. QAA's 2023 International Quality Review named the university's mentoring programme and the breadth of its graduate-employment transition initiatives as features of good practice. The university also runs an Innovation Incubator and a Directorate of Innovation and Technology Transfer, and holds recognition as a Scientific and Research Organisation from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.

## Hostel, food and safety

Air-conditioned hostel accommodation for men and women is available inside the Noida campus, and Amity states that separate housing is provided for international students. The published 2026 rate for the Noida campus is INR 1,95,000 per year for air-conditioned accommodation, plus a one-time refundable security deposit of INR 15,000 payable at admission. Cafeteria meals are billed on actual consumption and are not part of that figure. Hostel places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis, so accommodation is requested on the application form itself or through the admission office. Amity scholarships do not extend to boarding and lodging costs.

Catering runs through campus cafeterias and food courts, and hostel meals are billed on actual consumption rather than as a fixed board charge, so a student's food spend varies with what they actually eat. A departmental store and a bookshop operate on campus for daily purchases. Amity does not publish a cuisine-specific or dietary-specific catering breakdown for the Noida campus, so an applicant with a fixed dietary requirement is best raising it with the international admissions office before accepting a place.

Ragging is banned across the campus, its residential, sports and canteen premises and all university transport, and the university runs an Anti-Ragging Committee, an Anti-Ragging Squad and a separate monitoring and execution cell. Other standing bodies include an Internal Complaints Committee, the Amity Help Desk for Women, a Proctorial Board and a Student Grievance Redressal Committee.

A Foreign Students Facilitation Centre handles FRRO registration, arrival logistics and welfare for international students. A dedicated international student counsellor works from the Amity Admission Office in Block J2 on the Noida campus. Each international student is assigned a faculty coordinator and a faculty mentor, first-year arrivals are also assigned a student buddy, and a professional counsellor is available during working hours.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Amity University Noida a public or a private university?

It is private. Amity University Uttar Pradesh was created by the Amity University Uttar Pradesh Act, 2005, passed by the state legislature and notified through UP Gazette Notification No. 403/VII-V-I-I(Ka)/I/2005. The UGC's consolidated list of Indian universities records it as a private university at Sector 125, Noida 201313. It operates under the not-for-profit Ritnand Balved Education Foundation.

### Which Amity campus does this record cover?

The Noida campus at Sector 125, Gautam Buddha Nagar, which is the main campus of Amity University Uttar Pradesh. Amity is a multi-campus group that also includes separate state private universities in other Indian states and branch campuses in Lucknow, Greater Noida, Dubai and Tashkent. Every fee, eligibility threshold and selection process quoted here is taken from the Noida campus prospectus and does not carry across to those other institutions.

### What language are programmes taught in?

English. The Noida prospectus states that the medium of instruction is English and therefore makes English a mandatory subject at Class XII level. Undergraduate degrees also carry a compulsory four-part Foreign Business Language sequence in which the student picks one of Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Sanskrit or Spanish. Those are additional language modules, not the teaching language of the degree.

### Do international applicants need IELTS or TOEFL?

Only where English was not a subject in the qualifying examination. In that case Amity requires TOEFL iBT 60 out of 120 or an IELTS band of 6.5, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Where English was studied, no separate language test is asked for. Academic transcripts must be submitted in certified English translation; transcripts in other languages are not accepted.

### What are the entry requirements for foreign applicants?

Amity applies the same academic eligibility to foreign applicants as to Indian residents. Undergraduate entry requires twelve years of formal schooling plus the programme-specific Class XII subject and percentage thresholds. Postgraduate entry requires twelve years of schooling followed by a bachelor's degree of at least three years' duration, and Amity notes that postgraduate admission is restricted and expects a strong academic record. Every foreign qualification also needs an AIU or UGC equivalence certificate.

### How does an international student apply?

Foreign applicants apply online only. The INR 1,500 application form fee is waived for foreign applicants. Receipt, shortlisting, selection-process scheduling, the admission letter and fee payment all run through the Amity admission microsite at portal.amity.edu. The international student counsellor is based in the Amity Admission Office, Block J2, Amity University Campus, Sector 125, Noida 201313, and is contactable at internationaladmissions@amity.edu.

### When do applications close and when does the academic session start?

For the 2026 cycle the last date for foreign nationals to submit the application form is 30 June 2026. Amity's Noida campus marked the start of the 2025-26 academic year with its Diksharambh orientation on 14 July 2025, which places the intake in July. The exact commencement date, time and venue for each admitted student is stated in the individual admission letter issued through the admission microsite.

### How much does it cost and how does the international fee work?

Foreign applicants are charged the Sponsored fee category. The Noida prospectus publishes first-semester Sponsored figures - INR 3,28,500 for B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering and INR 6,21,000 for the MBA, for example - and states that an academic year is two semesters and that fees rise by roughly 5 per cent a year. Amity's foreign-applicant page states that international students receive a 50 per cent scholarship for the whole course. Add a one-time academic security deposit of INR 20,000, and campus logistics costs if taken.

### Can the international scholarship be combined with a merit scholarship?

No. The prospectus states that a student cannot be in receipt of a combination of scholarship and concession, that only one type may be availed, and that the higher of the two applies. Published 2026 merit bands include 100 per cent for an International Baccalaureate score of 42 or higher, 50 per cent for 38-41, 100 per cent for SAT 1500 and above and 100 per cent for ACT 34 and above. No scholarship covers the refundable security deposit or boarding and lodging.

### What accreditation and recognition does the university hold?

The UGC lists it among India's universities, and Amity states that because it was established by a state Act it does not require separate AICTE approval. It is accredited by the WSCUC in the United States, first accredited in 2016 with the most recent commission action on 24 February 2023. QAA's 2023 International Quality Review concluded that the university meets all ten ESG standards and set no conditions. The Bar Council of India's approved list of Centres of Legal Education records Amity Law School Noida with approval to 2026-27. The university is also a member of the AIU and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

### How did the university perform in the NIRF rankings?

In the Ministry of Education's NIRF India Rankings 2025, Amity University, Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh was ranked 22nd in the University category with a score of 59.68, 37th Overall with 57.49, 37th in Engineering with 58.53 and 49th in Management with 54.15. NIRF is published annually and positions move between cycles, so the ranking year always has to be read alongside the rank.

### What visa and registration steps apply after an offer?

A provisional offer is confirmed only against a student visa endorsed in the name of Amity University for full-time study and valid for the prescribed duration of the course; no other endorsement is accepted. A medical test report is due within a week of admission, together with adequate medical insurance cover. India's Bureau of Immigration requires registration with the jurisdictional FRRO within 14 days of arrival where the student visa runs beyond 180 days. Registration is free, but the FRO charges a penalty equivalent to US$30 for late registration.

### What accommodation is available and what does it cost?

Air-conditioned campus logistics accommodation for men and women is available on the Noida campus, with separate housing provided for international students. The published 2026 rate is INR 1,95,000 per year plus a one-time refundable security deposit of INR 15,000. Cafeteria meals are billed on actual consumption rather than included. Places are limited and allocated first come, first served, and a request is made either on the application form or through the admission office.
