## Admissions

Choose the exact English master and school, prepare the published qualifications and supporting records, and apply through the official international portal. Follow the electronic offer, deposit and visa-document process, then register according to the university’s final instructions.

## Why students choose it

- Compare exact graduate subjects and academic-school environments.
- Prepare a research-focused application with university degree and language checks.
- Plan against published tuition, residence and financial-document references.

## Things to consider

- Published TOEFL minimums differ between the two 2026 language versions; confirm the applicable score.
- Applicants already aged 30 should confirm the exact age boundary.
- The 2026 application cycle is closed; no future calendar is inferred.

## Best fit for

- Graduates comparing English engineering, computing, management or basic-medical research.
- Applicants prepared for the stated research plan, references and financial evidence.
- Students who can confirm their exact language, age and campus arrangements before applying.

## Campus and city

International graduate study is organised through academic schools and the international institute. The university has Huainan and Hefei campuses, and international students can apply for single or double university rooms under the published arrangements. Confirm the programme’s teaching and research location, residence allocation and arrival instructions before planning a campus commute.

AUST’s international admissions address is on Taifeng Street in Huainan, Anhui, a city associated with energy industries. The university also has a Hefei campus in the provincial capital. Its graduate subjects span different schools, so an office address or entrance photograph does not establish where every programme is taught. Plan transport and daily living around the actual school and residence assignment; no unverified travel time is assumed.

The university’s research environment spans safety science, mining, advanced manufacturing, geoscience and medicine, with national and provincial research platforms. The Foreign Languages school describes language laboratories and a cross-border livestreaming simulation facility alongside its e-commerce language and culture work. Basic Medical Sciences research covers immunology and disease mechanisms, with a separate academic identity from clinical training. Applicants should confirm supervisor, laboratory and project access for the chosen route; institutional research activity does not guarantee a paid placement, clinical practice or employment.

## Hostel, food and safety

The 2026 university accommodation references are CNY 2,000 per year for double rooms or CNY 3,500 for single rooms. Confirm room availability, facilities, allocation and the final bill before travel. The CNY 2,000 admission deposit is a tuition credit under the published process, not an additional housing charge. No residence campus is inferred from the Huainan admissions address.

Confirm dining locations, specific dietary needs and permitted food preparation for the assigned campus and residence. The guide gives a living-expense range rather than a mandatory meal plan; it does not establish universal halal provision or kitchen access. Budget for food according to actual consumption and the current university arrangements.

The graduate checklist requires an English-completed physical examination form, with the original brought to China. The guide requires students to purchase medical insurance before the new semester; the Chinese reference is at least CNY 800 per year. The international institute also publishes residence safety checks. Confirm current health, insurance and arrival instructions without assuming an unverified report-validity period.

The international institute and international cooperation office support recruitment, graduate teaching coordination, scholarships and daily student administration. Current personnel include staff assigned to international admissions and daily management. Students Traffic can help compare public information and prepare questions; university officials control admission, funding, programme allocation and qualification checks.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which English graduate fields can I compare?

The current international guide includes engineering, computing, geoscience, mining, safety, materials, management and related interdisciplinary routes, alongside named basic-medical research subjects. Use the exact programme title and school in the university application. Its current verified brochure covers full-time graduate admission; no unverified English undergraduate route is added here.

### How long are the masters and what award is established?

The current international duration table gives three years for master study and four for doctoral study. It establishes master level, but not an exact MSc, MEng or other formal abbreviation for these routes. Separate current programme rows retain their exact local names even when they share a broader subject family.

### What qualification and age conditions apply?

A qualification equivalent to a Chinese bachelor’s degree is required, together with good health and conduct. The Chinese master guide says no more than age 30; the English version says under 30. Applicants who are already 30 should confirm the exact cutoff before relying on eligibility. No unverified universal minimum age or GPA is added.

### What English evidence is accepted?

The guide lists native English, English-medium undergraduate study, IELTS 6.5 and strong results in other official English tests among its routes. Non-native speakers provide accepted English evidence. Chinese and English brochures disagree on TOEFL 60 versus 80, so confirm that minimum and the accepted evidence format directly; no lower score is assumed valid.

### Can HSK replace English evidence?

The Chinese text clearly assigns HSK 5 or above to Chinese-medium study. A generic alternative in the English table is not treated as an English-route waiver. English applicants should meet the English conditions and provide accepted evidence. A universal Chinese graduation test or threshold is not established by this graduate brochure.

### What academic documents do I need?

Prepare the notarised highest diploma and transcripts; current students also provide institutional enrolment evidence. A Chinese- or English-language study/research plan is required, with at least 800 words under the English guide; confirm the Chinese text-length convention. Two professor/associate-professor recommendations and the exact English evidence are required. Additional publications, achievements and awards can support the application.

### What identity, health and financial records are needed?

The checklist requires the application form, passport copy, English-completed physical examination form, bank deposit proof equivalent to at least CNY 50,000, application-charge voucher and eight recent passport-sized photographs. Bring the original health form to China. No unverified six-month bank history, health-report age, passport expiry minimum or police-document requirement is added.

### What are tuition and accommodation charges?

The 2026 master tuition is CNY 20,000 per year. Double rooms are CNY 2,000/year and single rooms CNY 3,500/year. The Chinese insurance reference is at least CNY 800/year. Confirm next-cycle charges, room allocation and the final invoice. The admission deposit counts toward tuition and is not an additional annual accommodation charge.

### When do I pay and what is refundable?

The CNY 400 application charge is non-refundable regardless of admission outcome. After the electronic offer, the CNY 2,000 admission deposit can count toward tuition; the university then provides visa documentation. Failure to register on the specified date forfeits that deposit. Annual tuition is due in one payment in the first academic week and is generally non-refundable under the published guide.

### When can I apply and register?

The brochure planned 2026 applications from 1 March to 1 July, but the official portal announced registration closure on 24 June 2026. The published registration period was early September 2026. That cycle is closed. Confirm the next application and exact registration dates with AUST; no future intake month is inferred from the past schedule.

### What scholarship support is available?

The 2026 provincial scholarship reference is CNY 30,000/year for masters. The AUST outstanding international scholarship reference is CNY 20,000–30,000/year, and it cannot overlap with the provincial award. Both follow their own selection and funding process; admission does not guarantee an award or a tuition reduction. Campus assistant/research support follows university opportunities and separate conditions.

### What other living costs should I plan for?

The 2026 guide estimates CNY 800–1,200/month for living expenses and about CNY 500/year for books. It references CNY 400/year for physical examination, with permit charges depending on duration in the Chinese schedule. These are historical planning figures, not an all-inclusive bill or a current fee guarantee. Confirm insurance coverage, room facilities, dining and actual campus arrangements before travel.

### Do the medicine-school routes qualify me for clinical practice?

Immunology and Pathology and Pathophysiology are separately named basic-medical academic research fields within the university’s Basic Medical Sciences framework. Their catalogue listing does not establish clinical practice, residency eligibility or professional registration. Confirm the exact final award, supervisor and research arrangements; no MBBS or licensing entitlement is implied.
