## Admissions

Select the exact programme, campus and aided/self-financed category. Follow the qualification and entrance process for that route, submit the required academic evidence and confirm an itemised fee before payment. Foreign and professional-programme applicants require additional category and approval checks.

## Why students choose it

- Compare aided and self-financed routes while preserving their distinct campuses and fee categories.
- Choose among science, home science, arts and engineering awards with the exact degree title retained.
- A women-focused university with published programme qualification and academic-policy information.

## Things to consider

- UGC funding and government aid do not replace the institution’s verified trust/society governance.
- Some fee schedules combine tuition with other charges; obtain an itemised quotation before payment.
- Tamil, Hindi and French majors use their respective languages, despite older English wording on some documents.

## Best fit for

- Women seeking a regular taught university programme in Coimbatore.
- Applicants who can compare the exact aided/self-financed category and campus before applying.
- Students who meet the named qualifying subjects or degree and can complete the specified selection process.

## Campus and city

Campus I and Campus II have different academic settings and schedules. The university combines regular teaching with student activities, practical work and support cells. Confirm the location of your department and any residential or transport arrangements before accepting an offer.

The main university address is Bharathi Park Road in Coimbatore. Its School of Engineering is at Campus II in Varapalayam, off Mettupalayam Road. These locations should be considered separately when planning daily travel or accommodation. Ask for the current campus timetable and transport arrangements; a main-campus address does not mean that every programme is taught there.

The university’s programmes combine discipline-specific teaching with practical assessment. Home Science and related awards can include laboratory, field and community work; engineering uses its named departmental laboratories, projects and technical activities. Choose a programme by its exact curriculum and facilities. Industry activity and placement support do not guarantee an internship, employment or professional registration.

## Hostel, food and safety

The university publishes hostel information and residential rules. The engineering prospectus describes on-campus accommodation for women. Confirm the relevant campus, current room allocation, deposits, mess charges and permission rules directly; an admission offer does not by itself confirm a room.

The School of Engineering prospectus describes vegetarian hostel food and drinking-water facilities. Confirm current arrangements at the campus where you will stay and discuss any dietary or allergy requirements before booking accommodation.

The university lists anti-ragging, grievance and complaints cells. Read the current campus and hostel rules and obtain the contacts relevant to your department and residence. Support arrangements and individual needs should be discussed before enrolment.

Published support includes equal-opportunity, student grievance and complaints cells, alongside department-level academic guidance. Contact the relevant office to confirm accessibility arrangements and the documents or assistance needed for your route.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Avinashilingam government-owned?

The university is governed by the Avinashilingam Education Trust/society and describes itself as UGC-funded. Government-aided programmes and public funding are distinct from government ownership. Compare the exact aided or self-financed admission route.

### Are both campuses in the same location?

The university has two constituent campuses. The main address is Bharathi Park Road, Coimbatore; the School of Engineering is at Campus II in Varapalayam. Confirm your exact department location and any transport or residential arrangements.

### What is the teaching language?

English is the established general medium, with designated language-course exceptions. Tamil, Hindi and French majors use their respective languages under the Academic Council decision. Music also has a specific Tamil report-writing exception in the examination manual.

### What does an on-request tuition entry mean?

The university publishes course charges, but some figures combine several components or cover only the first semester. An on-request tuition entry means a separate annual tuition figure has not been reliably reconciled. Ask for an itemised category quotation before payment.

### Can international applicants apply?

The university invites international applications under its published category and equivalence rules. Exact programme approval, qualification, English requirements, NRI/OCI classification and fees still need confirmation. A university-wide invitation does not establish every professional programme route.

### Is the next intake date confirmed here?

Use the current programme admission notice for the next application and first-entry schedule. An older academic calendar or first-year commencement circular does not automatically establish the next cohort date.

### Are similarly named courses interchangeable?

No. Compare the exact science or engineering award, major, campus, duration and entry requirements. Aided and self-financed records may represent different admission and fee categories even when their degree titles are similar.

### Does admission guarantee campus logistics allocation or a job?

Neither a programme listing nor an admission offer guarantees a campus logistics room, internship or employment. Confirm room allocation and residential charges separately, and review the actual curriculum and support available for your chosen course.
