## Campus and city

The university campus lies at the foothills of Maruthamalai, about 12 km from Coimbatore city. Teaching and research schools, the library, administrative offices and hostels share a campus of about 1,000 acres. The library opens 8 am–8 pm on working days and 10 am–4.30 pm on weekends.

Coimbatore is the university’s city location in Tamil Nadu. The campus is at the foothills of Maruthamalai, about 12 km from the city, so students choosing private accommodation should plan the journey to their department. University hostels offer an on-campus alternative, subject to allocation.

Postgraduate programmes use core, elective and supportive papers under the Choice Based Credit System. The regular two-year PG structure includes a fourth-semester project, with some programmes including internship, field trips or industrial visits. MBA follows a separate credit structure. Laboratory, project and field requirements depend on the exact programme.


## Hostel, food and safety

University hostels and an International Hostel are available. The 2026-27 international schedule lists annual accommodation of USD1,000, electricity of USD200 and admission of USD10, plus a refundable USD200 caution deposit. Food is separate and room allocation must be confirmed.

International Hostel residents can use the Indian mess at the monthly charges applied to Indian students. Special dining is charged at actual expense, and self-cooking facilities are available in the International Hostel.

The University Hospital provides a doctor and staff nurse from 9 am to 6 pm on working days. The university also lists a 24-hour campus ambulance service. These services do not replace personal health-insurance planning.
