## Campus and city

The Vyasarpadi campus brings together arts, science and commerce departments. The college’s institutional return records undergraduate and postgraduate study, library expenditure and laboratory equipment. Applicants choose a particular subject, shift and language section through the government admission process.

The college is in Vyasarpadi, Chennai 600039, in North Chennai, using dagac.edu.in. Its government admission code is 1011005. This is an arts and science college affiliated to the University of Madras, distinct from Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University and other institutions bearing Dr. Ambedkar’s name.

The college’s NIRF 2026 institutional submission records expenditure on laboratory equipment and academic resources. Science and applied subjects have different curriculum requirements from arts and commerce. Confirm the practical, project and assessment requirements of your selected degree; admission does not guarantee an internship, placement or professional licence.

## Hostel, food and safety

The 2026 government booklet lists no college hostel for boys or girls, but records welfare-hostel availability for both. Welfare residence is a separate eligibility and allocation process. Confirm the responsible authority, room availability, documents, costs and travel arrangements; academic admission does not guarantee accommodation.

Current mess services, meal charges, allergy handling and individual dietary arrangements have not been verified. Students considering welfare accommodation or independent residence should confirm available meals and any medical dietary needs before committing to accommodation.

Obtain current college contacts for welfare, complaints and emergency assistance when enrolling. Discuss access needs and travel arrangements directly. No individual safety outcome or residence supervision arrangement is established by these academic entries.

The college’s 2026 institutional submission records library resources, tuition-fee reimbursement recipients and accessibility provisions, including ramps or lifts and adapted toilets. Confirm current assistance, application documents and individual access arrangements; admission alone does not guarantee financial support.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which college is this?

This is Dr. Ambedkar Government Arts College in Vyasarpadi, Chennai 600039, using dagac.edu.in and government college code 1011005. It is distinct from Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University and other similarly named institutions.

### Is the college coeducational?

The current 2026 government admission booklet explicitly identifies the college as coeducational. These entries cover the verified regular domestic first-year undergraduate route; international and transfer routes require separate confirmation.

### Which degrees are included?

The supported portfolio includes regular B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. choices with separate shift and medium records where listed. BBA and postgraduate or research admissions require additional programme-specific review and are not established by these entries.

### How long are these undergraduate degrees?

These ordinary B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. routes follow the three-year undergraduate framework recorded in the college’s own NIRF 2026 submission and continued in the current government programme booklet. No honours extension or shortened exit is assumed.

### Which school subjects are needed?

Requirements depend on the degree. Mathematics applies to Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science; Chemistry applies to specified biological-science routes. Commerce requires Commerce and Accountancy. Read the exact subject, vocational and language-priority conditions on the selected entry.

### Are English and Tamil sections separate?

The government booklet lists English and Tamil sections separately for several subjects. Select the exact shift and medium. The B.A. English and B.A. Tamil rows do not separately identify teaching medium, so their language arrangements require direct confirmation.

### What age rules apply for 2026 admissions?

The dated 2026 DCE framework sets an upper age limit of 40 as on 1 July 2026, with specified category relaxations. The college assesses applicable certificates and relaxation rules. Confirm the rules again for a later admission cycle.

### How do I apply?

Use the notified Tamil Nadu government arts and science admission process, choose code 1011005 and the exact programme, shift and medium, then follow the college rank list and counselling instructions. Selection depends on the applicable merit, reservation and verification rules.

### Which documents should I prepare?

Prepare HSC marksheets, transfer and earlier school records, application details and identity documents. Bring valid community, disability, special-reservation or other category certificates when claiming a benefit, and recognised equivalence documents if required.

### Are programme fees confirmed?

Some named awards have indicative annual programme-fee references from a full secondary table. Its category and shift are unspecified. Annual tuition remains unverified; request the current itemised college tariff, including examinations and any accommodation.

### Is a campus logistics room available with admission?

The current government booklet records no college campus logistics and indicates welfare-campus logistics availability for boys and girls. Welfare accommodation requires its own eligibility and allocation checks; academic admission does not establish a room or meal entitlement.

### When do classes begin?

A programme-specific first-entry teaching month has not been established for these entries. Check the next official admission and reporting notice; counselling, application and examination dates should not be treated as class commencement dates.
