## Why students choose it

- E.S. College of Engineering and Technology (ESCET) is a TNEA-listed Anna University college (code 1428) in Villupuram, so Class 12 students from the district can study a B.E. or B.Tech without leaving the district.
- ESCET is 3 km from Villupuram railway station and 5 km from the district headquarters, according to DoTE's TNEA 2026 booklet.
- ESCET's campus logistics charges published in TNEA 2026 are low: room rent INR 6,000 and electricity INR 6,000 a year, with meal arrangements at INR 60,800 a year.

## Things to consider

- E.S. College of Engineering and Technology (ESCET) is an affiliated, non-autonomous college, not a university: Anna University sets its syllabus and exams and awards its degrees, and there are no seats for international students because AICTE shows no NRI or foreign-national approval.
- ESCET publishes no tuition fee, holds no NAAC grade, has no NBA-accredited branch and no NIRF rank, and after TNEA 2026 Round 1 DoTE still listed 286 government-quota vacancies across its four branches.
- ESCET's website still lists B.E. Civil, B.E. EEE and B.E. Mechanical, but none of them was offered in TNEA 2026, so they are not listed here; check with the college before applying for them.

## Best fit for

- Tamil Nadu TNEA applicants from Villupuram and nearby districts who want an Anna University B.E. or B.Tech close to home.
- Students interested in computing branches: CSE, IT and AI and Data Science make up 300 of ESCET's 360 first-year places in TNEA 2026.
- Students who need an on-campus campus logistics near Villupuram junction with published low room and electricity charges.

## Campus and city

E.S. College of Engineering and Technology (ESCET)'s campus is at E.S. Nagar on the Chennai Trunk Road (NH-45) at Ayyankoilpattu, on the northern edge of Villupuram. Its AICTE disclosure lists classrooms, tutorial rooms, department laboratories and a drawing hall, and its library holds about 45,000 volumes across seven engineering subjects. Boys' and girls' hostels are on campus and the college runs buses. The college also runs an annual technical symposium, Innobyte.

E.S. College of Engineering and Technology (ESCET) is at 3/249 E.S. Nagar, NH-45, Chennai Trunk Road, Ayyankoilpattu, Villupuram 605602, in Vikkiravandi taluk of Viluppuram district, Tamil Nadu. E.S. College of Engineering and Technology (ESCET) is not autonomous, so it follows Anna University's curricula and regulations: the university sets the syllabus, conducts the end-semester exams and awards the degree, and the college runs internal assessment. AICTE makes an internship mandatory for every admitted student. An institution-industry cell arranges industrial visits, in-plant training and internships. E.S. College of Engineering and Technology (ESCET) handles grievances through an online grievance redressal mechanism, suggestion boxes on campus and in the hostels, class committee meetings and a student welfare officer.
