## Admissions

Choose the exact programme and funding route, check its published requirements, and obtain the actual next-cohort instructions from HFUT’s official admissions office.

## Why students choose it

- The full programme table distinguishes English routes from Chinese-taught subjects.
- Three four-year English bachelor routes have verified local degree awards.
- Two separate three-year English master’s subjects are listed in the CSC catalogue.

## Things to consider

- The latest verified 2026 deadlines have passed; the next recruitment calendar is unconfirmed.
- The English major and other English-taught undergraduate programmes have different scholarship categories.
- Master availability is verified for the named CSC route, not unrestricted self-funded recruitment.

## Best fit for

- International applicants comparing the exact English undergraduate subjects and their entry tests.
- Bachelor’s graduates interested in the two named English language-related CSC master’s routes.
- Applicants prepared to confirm the next cohort’s campus, document and financial requirements with the official office.

## Campus and city

HFUT’s international admission guides direct applicants to Room 211, West Teaching Building,193 Tunxi Road, Hefei. An admissions office address does not assign every class or residence to that location. Confirm the teaching campus, lab access, housing and registration place in the actual offer. The historic Emerald Lake campus photograph shows a specific campus scene and is not a universal programme-location claim.

HFUT is based in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. Its current international admissions contact address is 193 Tunxi Road. Applicants should plan arrival and daily travel around the teaching and residence locations in the final offer, not only the postal address of the admissions office. The verified programme tables identify teaching schools but do not allocate every English programme to a precise campus or residence building. Ask the official office for those details before booking travel or arranging housing. No unsupported commute, living-cost or room-availability estimate is applied to all students.

The current Computer Science and Technology faculty overview identifies a four-year engineering degree and describes work in embedded systems, artificial intelligence, media computing and big-data-related fields. The Civil Engineering subject guide discusses building engineering, roads and bridges, geotechnical engineering and management. These native subject descriptions support academic comparison but do not guarantee the same elective direction, domestic joint-degree access or project allocation for every English international cohort. The English bachelor curriculum covers language, literature, translation, intercultural study, and technology/humanities themes. Its owning faculty awards an Arts bachelor, while the international table independently proves English instruction and four years. The two English master’s routes have different exact subjects and should be discussed separately with the School of Foreign Studies. Confirm the selected cohort’s curriculum, research direction, supervision and practical arrangements before accepting an offer. Current programme evidence does not establish a guaranteed employer placement, paid internship or employment outcome.

## Hostel, food and safety

The 2026 undergraduate guide quotes CNY 4,000 per year for on-campus accommodation. It does not specify a room type, per-bed basis or guaranteed allocation. Confirm the assigned campus, building, room, utilities and bedding before travel. The same guide quotes compulsory insurance CNY 800 per year and says uninsured students cannot register. These dated charges are not confirmed later-cohort prices. The CSC master scheme conditionally covers on-campus housing or a housing subsidy after an award; no subsidy amount or universal off-campus permission is inferred.

The verified admissions guides do not establish a meal contract, dietary certification, allergy service or kitchen allocation for every international residence. Contact the official student office about dining at the assigned campus and any specific dietary or accessibility needs. Budget meals separately from the tuition and accommodation quotes; no unsupported monthly food-cost estimate is supplied.

The guides require a complete medical form and recent non-criminal record, each normally valid for six months. Insurance is compulsory. Keep required passport/visa documents current and follow the actual admission and registration instructions. Original documents are checked again at registration; failed verification can revoke admission.

The official admission guides publish Ms Hannah and Ms Sarah, telephone +86 551 62901697, and hanyy@hfut.edu.cn and 2024850003@hfut.edu.cn. The Chinese guide names Han Yuanyuan and Zhang Han. Use your own valid email and official account, monitor document/interview notifications, and follow the admission notice’s exact payment and registration instructions.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which English programmes are verified?

The complete 2026 appendices list three English bachelor’s routes: Computer Science and Technology, Civil Engineering, and English. Two master’s routes are English: English Language Literature, and Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. Most listed engineering master’s subjects are Chinese, not part of this English portfolio.

### What degrees and durations are verified?

Both English engineering bachelor routes last four years and their owning faculty sources identify Bachelor of Engineering awards. English is a four-year Arts bachelor. Both master’s subjects last three years in the current international appendix; no named MA/MSc form is inferred.

### Are all five routes open through unrestricted general admission?

The three undergraduate routes have a general international guide. The two master’s routes are proven in the CSC High-Level Postgraduate catalogue; unrestricted self-funded master’s recruitment is not independently established. Scholarship selection is separate from meeting basic requirements.

### What academic and age requirements apply?

For the verified 2026 cohort, undergraduate applicants need a high-school diploma and age 25 or below; CSC master applicants need a bachelor’s degree and age 35 or below. Both require previous academic performance of at least 75%, non-Chinese citizenship and good physical/mental health. Confirm the next cohort’s exact requirements.

### What English scores or alternatives are accepted?

The published thresholds are IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 85, TOEFL Essentials 9 or Duolingo 100 or above. Applicants unable to supply standardised certificates may provide proof that the previous academic stage was taught in Chinese/English, following the stated requirements. No automatic native-speaker exemption is invented.

### Which CSCA subjects apply to English bachelor study?

Computer Science and Technology and Civil Engineering require Mathematics and Physics. The English major requires Mathematics. CSCA results must be supplied before the application deadline. The source distinguishes English routes from Chinese-taught routes and their professional Chinese tests.

### What additional nationality or guardian checks apply?

The 2026 guide contains dated nationality/overseas-residence conditions, with different Chinese/English descriptions of the affected applicant category. Former Chinese citizens and applicants of Chinese ancestry should obtain official confirmation of the applicable category and exact residence boundary. Under 18 at registration requires the specified guardian documents.

### What tuition and accommodation fees are published?

The 2026 undergraduate guide quotes CNY 22,000 annual tuition, CNY 4,000 annual on-campus accommodation, CNY 800 annual insurance and CNY 400 non-refundable application. It does not establish a room type or master gross tuition. Next-cohort charges remain unconfirmed; a scholarship does not make the general listed price zero.

### How do undergraduate scholarships differ?

The English major uses the HFUT Undergraduate Scholarship categories: Type A tuition plus housing, Type B half tuition plus housing, Type C housing. Other English-taught bachelor routes use the English-taught Program Scholarship: Type A two-thirds tuition plus housing, Type B half tuition plus housing, Type C housing. Annual review can reallocate the award type; no award is guaranteed.

### What does the verified CSC master scholarship cover?

The 2026 scheme conditionally covers tuition, accommodation or subsidy, comprehensive insurance and stipend for three years. Its official guide gives no stipend amount here. Annual review applies. Other Chinese funding is barred except one-time rewards; concealment can cause cancellation, repayment and a three-year CSC reapplication bar.

### Is supervisor acceptance mandatory for master’s applicants?

No. The CSC guide explicitly says a supervisor acceptance letter is optional and gives priority. The supervisor-signed study-plan rule is expressly for doctoral applicants. Do not impose that doctorate-only rule on these master’s routes.

### Are the published deadlines still open?

No. The undergraduate deadline was 15 June 2026. The CSC procedure used 28 February 2026 for HFUT and 20 March 2026 for nominated applicants’ CSC submissions, with earlySeptember 2026 study. These are historical dates; the next open cohort is unconfirmed. Applicants should follow the actual new notice.

### Who handles official enquiries and submissions?

The guides list Ms Hannah and Ms Sarah, phone +86 551 62901697, and hanyy@hfut.edu.cn and 2024850003@hfut.edu.cn. The Chinese guide names Han Yuanyuan and Zhang Han. Use the official HFUT system and your own valid account; nominated CSC applicants then use Type B, agency 10359. The university has not entrusted intermediaries to process its CSC applications.
