Several undergraduate awards have distinct shifts, while departments set their own practical and assessment requirements. Confirm the timetable, attendance rules and compulsory activities for the exact programme before enrolling. The campus is on Arcot Road in Kodambakkam, Chennai. Compare daily travel with your selected shift and any laboratory or fieldwork requirements. Plan accommodation, food, transport and personal expenses separately from academic fees; no fixed living-cost estimate is assigned without a verified basis. Scholarship eligibility, financial assistance and employment outcomes depend on their own conditions and are not guaranteed by admission. ## Frequently asked questions ### Which college is this? This is Meenakshi College for Women at 363 Arcot Road, Kodambakkam, Chennai, affiliated to the University of Madras. Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College, the management school, MAHER and Madurai’s Sri Meenakshi Government College have separate identities. ### Who do these entries cover? The verified route describes women applying through domestic regular college admission. Exact subjects or qualifying degrees and selection rules apply. Overseas and NRI conditions have not been verified here; an unverified route is not declared prohibited. ### Which undergraduate shifts are listed? The current college curriculum distinguishes Shift I and Shift II where available. Economics, Mathematics and General Commerce have separate current shift offerings. Select the exact route on the official admissions page rather than assuming the same conditions across shifts. ### What school qualifications are required? Higher Secondary or a recognised equivalent is required, with subject conditions varying by degree. DCE rules specify Mathematics for Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science, Chemistry for the biological-sciences group, and the listed science combinations for Chemistry. ### What are the commerce entry conditions? The applicable DCE rules specify Commerce and Accountancy, with a separate Commerce vocational-stream allocation. College and University of Madras norms and the actual seat allocation still apply to the selected commerce award. ### What postgraduate degrees qualify? Entry depends on the award. Mathematics and Physics require undergraduate study in the concerned subject, Commerce requires a Commerce degree, and Biochemistry accepts Chemistry or life sciences. Tamil requires undergraduate study with Tamil as a language. Use the exact programme entry. ### What is the undergraduate age rule? The 2026 DCE rules set 40 years as on 1 July 2026. Specified categories and women may be allowed three years’ relaxation; disability and transgender provisions allow five years. Category verification applies and relaxations are not automatically cumulative. ### Which teaching languages are recorded? The named institutional programme table records English for the supported awards except M.A. Tamil, which is recorded in Tamil. The computing M.Sc. crosswalk uses the exact Information Technology curriculum and current continuation. Confirm current classroom arrangements directly. ### How long are these degrees? Supported undergraduate awards are three years and postgraduate degrees two years. These durations use the named institutional programme record and exact Information Technology curriculum, with current admissions confirming continuation. ### When should I apply? Use the current programme-specific application link on the official college admissions page or obtain an application at the college office. Follow selection and reporting communication; no unverified first-year academic-start month is assigned. ### How should I read programme fees? Where a reported amount is available, it is a full-course programme quote from a credible secondary report, not annual tuition. Obtain a current itemised college quote for the exact degree, shift and category, and budget living expenses separately. ### Which documents should I prepare? Prepare Higher Secondary records for undergraduate study or degree and marks statements for postgraduate study, together with transfer and applicable category records. Another board, state or university may require eligibility or recognition documents; follow the college’s exact checklist. ## Sources - [Official home source](https://www.meenakshicollege.com/) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official about source](https://www.meenakshicollege.com/about) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official curriculum source](https://www.meenakshicollege.com/curriculum) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official ssr source](https://www.meenakshicollege.com/_files/ugd/3a8744_0e5ee3f55f104b389da9ca126485fe45.pdf) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official dce source](https://www.queenmaryscollege.edu.in/assets/docs/2026-27%20Admission%20Guideline%20final.pdf) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official it source](https://www.meenakshicollege.com/_files/ugd/3a8744_4d52db301b51409e9e69014e7ae39b6f.pdf) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official ugc source](https://www.ugc.gov.in/colleges) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official autonomy source](https://www.ugc.gov.in/colleges/Autonomous_Colleges_list) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Independent reported programme fees](https://collegedunia.com/college/2972-meenakshi-college-for-women-chennai/courses-fees) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official facilities source](https://www.meenakshicollege.com/facilities) (checked 2026-10-25) - [Official group source](https://www.meenakshi.education/) (checked 2026-10-25) ## Free counselling Students Traffic offers free admission counselling for this university and its programmes. - Contact: https://www.studentstraffic.com/contact - WhatsApp: https://wa.me/919176162888 - Phone: +91 91761 62888 - Email: hello@studentstraffic.com
