# Nanjing Agricultural University

> Nanjing Agricultural University is a public Ministry of Education institution with predecessor roots in 1902 and 1914. Nanjing Agricultural College formed by merger in 1952 and took its present university name in 1984. Its October 2026 catalogue verifies thirty English-selectable three-year master’s subjects. The separate 2027 undergraduate catalogue is Chinese. Exact college, supervisor and funding-route conditions matter.

## Admissions

Choose the exact subject and English teaching option, then obtain an approved NAU discipline-supervisor acceptance letter. The October 2026 catalogue establishes thirty three-year English options. Confirm the next master’s cycle and exact funding notice rather than transferring undergraduate or another scholarship’s rules.

## Why students choose it

- Thirty current master’s subjects have explicit English options, three-year durations and research/core-subject descriptions.
- Agriculture and life-science research connects with engineering, daily living, environment, management and public administration.
- Programme choice can be discussed with a discipline supervisor before the required acceptance letter is approved.

## Things to consider

- The 2027 undergraduate portfolio is Chinese; no English undergraduate route is packaged.
- Supervisor acceptance is mandatory in the current general postgraduate guidance.
- Next specific master’s commencement and scholarship deadlines need confirmation; general calendar patterns are not dated offers.

## Best fit for

- Related bachelor’s graduates seeking an exact English master’s research subject.
- Applicants prepared to obtain an approved discipline-supervisor letter and document their research plan.
- Students comparing exact subject, language, campus, fee category and funding conditions before applying.

## Campus and city

NAU’s current fee guidance distinguishes Binjiang and Weigang international student housing. The 2027 undergraduate guide gives the international office’s address at 666 Binjiang Avenue in Nanjing’s Jiangbei New Area. Those office and housing locations do not establish the classroom campus of every master’s programme. Graduate study is organised through the teaching college and a discipline supervisor. The current catalogue lists specific research fields and core subjects, from crop genetics and soil management to food, veterinary and agricultural engineering research. Confirm the supervisor, teaching site and accommodation allocation together before making travel plans.

Nanjing is the university’s city in Jiangsu Province. Applicants should distinguish the Binjiang international-office address from the Weigang housing option when arranging arrival or comparing a supervisor’s location. The programme catalogue identifies colleges but does not allocate each master’s route to an exact classroom campus. The live full catalogue also includes Wuxi Fisheries College. Its separate professional Fishery profile is outside the thirty-route package and has its own programme and funding context. Wuxi facilities or a MOFCOM scholarship are not general benefits for every NAU student. For daily budgeting, use the native monthly housing basis and request current food, transport and insurance information directly.

The October 2026 catalogue gives subject-specific research fields and core subjects. Crop programmes include breeding, germplasm, cultivation and digital agriculture; environmental subjects include ecology, soil, pollution and resource questions; agricultural engineering includes machinery, biological environments, energy and automation. Horticulture routes separately cover fruit, vegetables, tea, ornamental plants and protected cultivation. The general postgraduate application requires an approved acceptance letter from a discipline supervisor. Use that discussion to establish the intended project, laboratory or fieldwork, supervision and research expectations. Programme descriptions establish academic opportunities, rather than an entitlement to a particular laboratory position, internship or job.

## Hostel, food and safety

The current fee page lists two-person international rooms with a separate bathroom and water heater. For stays of at least one month, Binjiang is quoted at CNY 1,200 per person per month and Weigang at CNY 1,000. Short stays under one month are CNY 60 and CNY 50 per person per day respectively. These housing criteria took effect on 1 September 2024. Confirm current allocation, availability and payment with residence services. The source does not give a universal annual housing amount; monthly rates are not multiplied into an invented academic-year total. A scholarship’s housing benefit requires its exact current award notice.

The reviewed admissions and fee pages do not establish a universal meal-plan price or a guaranteed vegetarian, halal or allergy-aware facility for the thirty master’s routes. Ask the international college about current arrangements before accepting a place if you have a dietary need. The separate Wuxi Fishery brochure’s facilities are not transferred to Nanjing teaching sites.

Applicants provide the prescribed physical examination form with medical signatures; the general guidance gives the examination a six-month validity. The international college has a published Teaching Affairs and Insurance contact. The fee page directs students to the designated insurance information provider without verifying a universal premium here. Confirm current cover and arrival procedures directly.

The current contact table separates these responsibilities; identify the exact subject, supervisor and funding route in enquiries.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are English undergraduate programmes verified?

The independent university-hosted 2027 undergraduate PDF marks its portfolio Chinese and requires HSK 5. English undergraduate fee categories alone do not establish an English intake. The English portfolio here consists of the thirty master’s subjects explicitly listed in the October 2026 graduate catalogue.

### What English master’s subjects are represented?

The package covers crop cultivation/breeding and smart agriculture; plant protection, nutrition and soil; environment and ecology; daily living science and professional daily living/nutrition; five horticulture subjects; agricultural economics, professional international business, educational economics and land management; animal genetics/nutrition; three veterinary subjects; and three agricultural engineering subjects. Each retains its exact title and college.

### How long are these master’s degrees and what award is named?

Every packaged subject expressly lists master’s level and three years in the October 2026 catalogue. daily living and Nutrition and International Business explicitly carry professional-master classification. Other native entries are not assigned an MSc, MEng, MBA or another abbreviation without source proof.

### What prior degree and age are required?

The current general master’s guidance requires a bachelor’s degree in a related major, good academic performance, good health and age under 35. Scholarship-specific qualifications or conditions may differ and require the exact current notice. Undergraduate nationality/residence and CSCA requirements are not automatically transferred to master applicants.

### What English evidence is accepted?

General guidance permits an English-speaking-country background, at least one year of discipline-relevant experience in an English-speaking country, or IELTS at least 6.0/TOEFL at least 80. It accepts TOEFL MyBest and TOEFL Essentials and gives DI code C702; confirm the exact test format and score interpretation. An older FAQ’s broader English-medium-proof wording is not treated as an automatic current waiver.

### Do applicants need supervisor acceptance?

Yes. The general postgraduate document list requires an acceptance letter signed and approved by an NAU master’s or doctoral supervisor in the discipline; an unapproved letter is invalid. Contact a relevant supervisor early and agree the intended subject and research direction before submitting the application.

### What plan, references and documents are needed?

Prepare a study/research plan of at least 800 words in Chinese or English, two professor/associate-professor recommendations, notarised qualification and transcripts, approved supervisor letter, passport/residence evidence, English evidence, photograph and prescribed physical examination. Other-language documents need notarised Chinese/English translations. The general page permits a university-informed commitment if a non-criminal report is unavailable.

### What tuition and application fees are published?

The current general schedule quotes annual English master categories at CNY 28,000 for Social Sciences, CNY 30,000 for Science/Engineering/Agriculture and CNY 45,000 for Medical Sciences/Arts/Physical Education. Confirm programme classification and final intake fees. The exact new daily living and Nutrition fee category is held. The published application alternatives are CNY 500 or USD 80 per application, not a currency conversion.

### What housing prices are listed?

For stays of at least one month, two-person international rooms are CNY 1,200 per person per month at Binjiang or CNY 1,000 at Weigang. Stays under one month are CNY 60 or CNY 50 per person per day respectively. Rooms have a separate bathroom and water heater. Criteria took effect 1 September 2024; confirm current allocation and availability.

### Which campus teaches each route?

The catalogue identifies the college but does not allocate every master’s subject to a named classroom campus. The 2027 undergraduate guide places the international-office contact at 666 Binjiang Avenue in Nanjing’s Jiangbei New Area. Confirm the supervisor’s teaching site and housing allocation in the offer; the office address alone is not a programme-campus guarantee.

### Does catalogue inclusion guarantee a CSC award?

No. The October 2026 document is a high-level graduate programme catalogue, but inclusion does not establish admission, a scholarship award, a stipend or the next funding deadline. Follow the exact current scholarship notice and university confirmation. The thirty-route package does not invent inaccessible 2027 notice conditions.

### Why is the English Fishery route held?

The older university profile establishes a separate two-year English professional route at Wuxi Fisheries College for developing-country participants. A 2026 MOFCOM brochure describes bachelor-qualified officials/technicians but also states junior-college qualification in its formal eligibility. That contradiction is unresolved. The route remains inventoried with a hold rather than assuming an education threshold or applying standard CSC rules.

### When should applications be submitted?

The general master guidance describes an approximate annual deadline in late June to mid-July; scholarship deadlines follow their exact notices. It does not establish the next specific master’s opening or commencement date here. Use njau.at0086.cn and confirm the current cycle directly. Electronic submission is required; the general page says courier and hard-copy applications are not accepted.
