## Why students choose it

- A UGC-listed public deemed university with a technical-education focus.
- Named postgraduate degrees supported by current programme brochures and regulations.
- A modular credit structure with subject study and project components.

## Things to consider

- Current AICTE international-student and NRI approval columns are marked No for these regular programmes.
- The public fee total is a programme quote; annual tuition and living costs are not inferred.
- Faculty preference, qualification assessment and the regular versus working-professional route matter.

## Best fit for

- Applicants meeting the named prior-degree requirements for the selected technical specialism.
- Graduates seeking regular two-year postgraduate study at Taramani.
- Applicants comparing modular study and technical-teacher development alongside a subject specialism.

## Campus and city

The Taramani campus supports postgraduate study, technical-teacher development and research. The Resource Centre provides print collections, electronic resources and research-support tools; current member access conditions apply.

NITTTR is located at Taramani in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, postal code 600113. Plan travel and accommodation around the Chennai teaching campus. Other NITTTR institutions at Bhopal, Chandigarh and Kolkata, and the listed extension centres in other cities, are distinct locations; their fees and admission rules should not be substituted.

The postgraduate regulations use an 80-credit modular structure combining professional or elective courses, mandatory learning, practical work and project or dissertation components. Programme brochures describe subject-specific curricula. Review the exact curriculum, credit registration and assessment requirements for the selected degree; a project or internship component does not guarantee an employer placement or a teaching appointment.

## Hostel, food and safety

The institute publishes guest-house and residence galleries, including Bharathidasan, Tiruppur Kumaran, Velu Nachiyar and Dr Rathakrishnan International Hall of Residence. Confirm whether regular PG students can receive a room, current availability, charges and written allotment terms; a published residence photograph does not establish a room guarantee.

Confirm current meal availability, mess charges and dietary or allergy requirements with the residence before booking. A programme fee quotation does not establish included meals.

The institute lists anti-ragging, grievance and internal-complaints support routes. Obtain the current campus and residence contacts at enrolment and confirm access and travel arrangements for your timetable.

The Resource Centre provides research tools and member access to subscribed electronic resources. The academic admission portal sets out application, entrance assessment and document-verification steps; obtain the current programme checklist.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is this the Chennai NITTTR?

Yes. This profile covers NITTTR at Taramani, Chennai. Other NITTTR institutions and extension-centre locations have separate campus and admission arrangements.

### How long is regular postgraduate study?

The current programme directory identifies two-year postgraduate study. The regular route must be distinguished from flexible working-professional, online and doctoral arrangements.

### What qualification is needed?

Each engineering specialism has a named prior-degree list in the PG regulations. Business Analytics accepts a recognised bachelor degree of at least three years. The institute assesses equivalence and selection; a course title alone does not establish eligibility.

### How is the academic structure organised?

The postgraduate regulations describe a modular 80-credit structure with subject courses, assessments and a project or dissertation component. Obtain the current programme curriculum and credit-registration plan.

### What does the programme fee cover?

The current schedule publishes a total fee for an 80-credit PG programme and separately explains per-credit and examination rates, one-time fees, refundable deposits and annual facilitation charges. Confirm a personalised written schedule, extra study costs and accommodation before payment.

### Can overseas or NRI applicants assume admission is available?

No. The 2026–27 AICTE approval letter recordsNo in international and NRI approval columns for these regular degrees. General regulations mention a conditional foreign-government nomination procedure; that does not establish an ordinary international application route.

### Is a room guaranteed?

No room allocation is established by the published guest-house and residence galleries. Confirm eligibility, availability, charges and the exact residence before arranging accommodation.

### Is the teaching language established?

A programme-wide instruction and assessment language has not been confirmed in this source set. Request the exact language arrangements; no English assumption is made from the country or website.

### Is the application portal always open?

No. Admission notices and portal schedules are cohort-specific. Confirm the current application window, available regular seats and selection arrangements before submitting details or a payment.
