## Admissions

The academic-stream route for government-quota B.E./B.Tech seats uses TNEA, college code 2377. Indian applicants must meet TNEA eligibility rules; specified Tamil Nadu-native OCI/PIO cardholders and Sri Lankan Tamil refugees studied in Tamil Nadu have limited open-category access. Students Traffic can help assess the applicable route.

## Why students choose it

- A distinct Neelambur engineering campus within the PSG educational network.
- Engineering study includes projects and internship-related curriculum components.
- A dedicated industry-interaction centre coordinates applied-learning activities.

## Things to consider

- PSG iTech is a separate institution from PSG College of Technology; choose TNEA college code 2377.
- The campus logistics’s 6:30 p.m. return rule affects evening plans away from campus.
- Tuition, campus logistics charges and deposits are separate budget items; request a category-specific cost plan.

## Best fit for

- School-leavers comparing a four-year engineering pathway in Coimbatore.
- Applicants who meet TNEA academic and nativity or specifically permitted category rules.
- Students comfortable with a structured campus logistics routine and an early evening return rule.

## Campus and city

Library study, technical projects and residential routines shape life at PSG iTech. The library provides RFID self-issue facilities and a round-the-clock book-return drop box. Separate boys’ and girls’ hostels include study halls, dining areas and laundry facilities, while sports and student clubs sit alongside the engineering timetable.

The college is on Avinashi Road at Neelambur, Coimbatore, rather than at PSG College of Technology’s Peelamedu campus. Its postal address is Coimbatore 641062. College transport provides an alternative to hostel residence, and the Neelambur location is the relevant starting point when comparing accommodation and a daily commute.

The Centre for Industry Interaction and Outreach, established in July 2025, coordinates student internships, industry lectures, proof-of-concept work and technical problem-solving with industry. The B.E./B.Tech regulations include mini-project work, final-year projects and internship or community-engagement components. These are routes to supervised applied learning, not a promise of a particular employer or placement.

## Hostel, food and safety

Separate hostels for boys and girls provide cupboards, study halls, dining facilities, purified water, solar-heated hot water and laundry support. Residents must return by 6:30 p.m.; outside food and personal electrical appliances are restricted. These residential rules are an important part of choosing the campus hostel.

Hostel dining provides three meals a day and purified drinking water. Outside food is restricted under the hostel rules, so the residential dining arrangement is a practical consideration for anyone with a specialised diet.

The campus medical centre has a doctor, nursing support, three beds and first-aid provision. An ambulance supports referrals, with further care linked to PSG medical facilities. This is a campus health service rather than an on-site full-service hospital.

The wellness centre offers individual and group counselling, career guidance and awareness sessions. Faculty mentoring provides academic guidance through the programme. Students Traffic can help assess TNEA eligibility and organise a category-specific application and cost plan.

## Frequently asked questions

### Where is PSG iTech located?

The campus is on Avinashi Road in Neelambur, Coimbatore 641062. It is a different institution and location from PSG College of Technology at Peelamedu.

### Is the college autonomous?

PSG iTech has UGC-listed autonomous status for 2024–25 through 2033–34 under Anna University. It is a separate institution from PSG College of Technology.

### What engineering study options are available?

Undergraduate engineering options include civil, computer science, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication, instrumentation and control, mechanical, robotics and artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence and data science, and electronics engineering with VLSI design and technology.

### How does the engineering admission route work?

Government-quota engineering seats use TNEA counselling, college code 2377. Applicants register, upload certificates, complete verification and fill branch choices before allotment and reporting. This academic-stream route is subject to the applicant’s qualifying examination and permitted TNEA category.

### What is the normal engineering degree duration?

The regular B.E./B.Tech degrees take four academic years, comprising eight semesters. Teaching and examinations are in English at the Neelambur campus.

### What does practical learning involve?

Engineering regulations include mini-projects, final-year project work and internship or community-engagement components. The industry-interaction centre also coordinates internships and expert lectures.

### What accommodation is available?

The college provides separate boys’ and girls’ campus logistics, with study halls, dining facilities, purified water and laundry support. campus logistics residence follows the college’s residential rules.

### Are there restrictions on campus logistics life?

campus logistics residents must return by 6:30 p.m. Outside daily living and personal electrical appliances are restricted, so the residential rules should form part of an accommodation decision.

### What health and wellbeing services are on campus?

A medical centre provides first aid, doctor and nursing support, with ambulance referral arrangements. The wellness centre offers individual and group counselling and awareness activities.

### How should the published costs be understood?

Tuition is on request for the applicant’s allotment category. Include campus logistics, dining, deposits and other charges in the total budget rather than treating a reported programme total as annual tuition. Request a current fee and full-cost plan through Students Traffic.

### Can OCI or PIO cardholders apply through TNEA?

OCI/PIO cardholders who are natives of Tamil Nadu may participate in the open category. This provision excludes OCI/PIO cardholders born in a foreign country after 4 March 2021. It is a narrowly defined TNEA route, not general foreign-national admission.

### What is the route for Sri Lankan Tamil refugees?

Sri Lankan Tamil refugees who studied in Tamil Nadu are considered under open competition. They need a Headquarters Tahsildar identification certificate; applicants not registered in a refugee camp must also produce their original passport, visa and police-station registration letter.

### What academic marks are required for this route?

The academic stream requires a pass in both HSC years or an accepted equivalent, with mathematics, physics and chemistry in Class 12. The minimum subject average is 45% for general-category applicants and 40% for eligible Tamil Nadu reserved categories; the stated OCI/PIO and refugee routes are open-category routes.
