## Admissions

Compare the exact English route and its admissions/funding scope, confirm eligibility and the relevant application window, and verify the full costs, academic plan and campus before applying.

## Why students choose it

- English academic routes across teacher education, business, computing, psychology and language studies.
- Published subject-specific undergraduate assessment and dated tuition information.
- A defined school-review process for the selective 2027 CSC postgraduate call.

## Things to consider

- General 2026 application dates have passed; next self-funded recruitment needs confirmation.
- The 2027 CSC routes have selective funding conditions and require an acceptance letter.
- English-score and age-boundary wording conflicts need clarification for affected applicants.

## Best fit for

- International applicants meeting the exact qualification and language requirements of their chosen route.
- Students seeking normally four-year undergraduate or three-year master’s study.
- Candidates ready to complete school assessment and keep control of official submissions.

## Campus and city

The university has Qianfoshan and Changqing campuses. International-student activities include academic meetings, cultural learning and student competitions. Its October 2026 English undergraduate cohort visited computing laboratories and a robotics display and met their teachers to discuss the academic plan. Confirm teaching and residence allocations before travel; the cover depicts the Qianfoshan north gate in July 2026 and does not allocate any programme to that campus.

Jinan is the capital of Shandong Province. The international college’s published address is 88 East Wenhua Road in the city, while academic activity also takes place on the Changqing campus. Plan daily travel around the campus and residence actually assigned to you. The dated brochure gives a canteen-meal estimate, but it does not establish a complete budget for transport, personal expenses or travel.

English undergraduate students in international trade meet School of Economics teachers to discuss their curriculum and practical-learning arrangements. Computing and artificial-intelligence students have visited professional laboratories and a robotics demonstration area as part of academic orientation. Preschool subject training combines early-childhood theory, care, curriculum and teaching research at faculty level. The Foreign Languages faculty develops language-data, corpus and language-service research. These are academic environments and subject descriptions; confirm the exact English international modules, placements and access to facilities in the approved plan.

## Hostel, food and safety

International-student housing offers double rooms with furniture, air conditioning and private bathrooms, plus shared kitchens, laundry rooms and gym facilities. Published 2026 quotes are CNY 5,000/semester/bed and, in the self-funded guide, CNY 10,000/person/academic year. Confirm the actual campus, room availability, billing dates, holiday access, utilities and deposits. The cover is a gate photograph and does not identify your residence.

Campus dining includes varied canteens and a dedicated halal canteen. The published 2026 meal estimate is about CNY 1,000/month. Ask about the dining location and opening times on your assigned campus, as well as any certification, allergy or other dietary support you require. Individual spending and available provision may differ.

Applications require recent medical and police-clearance evidence. Medical insurance is compulsory for registration. Original documents are checked on arrival, and the university requires a study visa. Under 18applicants need the published China-resident guardian arrangements. Confirm current campus welfare and emergency contacts before travelling.

The International Students Office coordinates document review, school assessment, admission and arrival instructions. The official process provides a university system, original-document verification and medical-insurance requirements. Student learning rules provide attendance and leave procedures; academic staff help new English cohorts understand their programmes and study plans.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is SDNU public, and what can I study in English?

SDNU is a public university listed in China’s Ministry of Education roster. Its English catalogue includes undergraduate routes in preschool education, international trade, business, computing and artificial intelligence, plus master’s subjects in education, public administration, business, Marxist studies, psychology, translation and language studies. Some master’s routes are verified only under the 2027 CSC scholarship call; check each route’s availability.

### How long will the degree take?

The verified undergraduate routes are normally four years and the English master’s routes three years. The brochure’s two-year exception is a Chinese-taught International Chinese Language Education programme. Confirm the approved international training plan, maximum period, thesis/defence language and Chinese-language completion requirements.

### Is Preschool Education a first-entry bachelor degree?

Yes. The Faculty of Education identifies four-year undergraduate study with教育学学士, corresponding to the Bachelor of Education family. The international brochure lists English instruction. Its preschool subject and duration remain distinct from other countries’ graduate-entry teacher programmes; professional registration abroad is not guaranteed.

### What English evidence is required?

The 2026 self-funded guide quotes IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80. The 2027 CSC minimum table gives IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 75, while introductory prose uses above those scores. Confirm acceptance of a boundary score. Previous English study can support a university-approved waiver; theCSC call requires official university-level proof covering instruction and examinations.

### Do undergraduate applicants need CSCA?

Yes, the current undergraduate instructions require a CSCA result. The brochure lists Mathematics for Preschool Education; Mathematics and Physics for International Trade; and Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for Business Administration and Computer Science. Confirm paper language/category. Artificial Intelligence’s exact subject set is unverified; do not borrow another route’s requirements.

### Who can apply for the 2027 CSC master’s call?

Non-Chinese bachelor graduates with the required academic, health and conduct standing may apply. Chinese wording normally allows age 35 or below; English says under 35, so confirm the boundary. An SDNU acceptance letter is required after school review/interview. The call is selective, with 10 places shared across master’s and doctoral study, not a guaranteed place in each subject.

### What are the application dates?

The 2027 CSC High-levelPostgraduate deadline is 10 February 2027 for September 2027 entry. The 2026 self-funded guide states 1 April–31 May, while the general brochure states 30 June for degree applications. Both 2026 dates have passed. Confirm the next general intake separately; a scholarship deadline does not establish unrestricted self-funded admission.

### What does tuition cost?

Dated 2026 English undergraduate quotations are CNY 22,000/year for Preschool Education and CNY 24,500/year for the listed trade, business and computing routes. Listed English master’s quotations are CNY 26,300 or 28,700/year by exact subject. Artificial Intelligence and newer scholarship-only subjects need a separate quotation. Confirm next-cohort rates.

### What does the scholarship cover?

The selective 2027 CSC call covers tuition, accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance, plus a master’s stipend of CNY 3,000/month. Chinese text specifies a free dormitory; English also mentions an accommodation subsidy, so confirm the actual arrangement. Award selection and the final list are decided through university recommendation and CSC review.

### What are accommodation and living costs?

The brochure quotes CNY 5,000/semester/bed; the self-funded guide quotes CNY 10,000/person/academic year. It describes double rooms with furniture, air conditioning and private bathrooms, with shared kitchens, laundry and gym facilities. Canteen meals are estimated at about CNY 1,000/month. Confirm campus, billing dates, room availability and personal costs.

### Is halal dining available?

The current brochure describes a dedicated halal canteen and varied campus daily living. Confirm its location and opening times on your assigned campus, plus any certification or allergy arrangements you need. A published facility description does not establish that every dietary requirement can be accommodated.

### Why are there two Applied Psychology master’s routes?

The current native catalogue distinguishes应用心理, the professional psychology qualification, from应用心理学, the academic psychology field. Both are translated Applied Psychology in English. Their exact qualification identities stay separate; neither label alone establishes an MSc, professional-practice licence or clinical registration.

### How do I apply and contact the university?

For general study, use your own account in the official SDNU system, submit documents, and follow review, interview and official payment instructions. For 2027 CSC, obtain the school’s acceptance letter before scholarship submission and follow SDNU’s later system invitation. The currentCSC acceptance procedure uses ciesdnu@163.com; the self-funded guide also lists ciesdnu@sdnu.edu.cn.
