## Admissions

International applicants apply through fs.seu.edu.cn. The 2027 guide sets CSCA subjects for undergraduates and names the English routes separately from Chinese programmes. Academic review, funding and graduation-language requirements depend on the exact programme.

## Why students choose it

- Compare English degrees across architecture, planning, engineering, science and public health.
- Review explicit 2027 programme durations, CSCA subjects and application batches.
- Choose academic routes with distinct school and award requirements.

## Things to consider

- English-taught undergraduates need HSK Level 4 before graduation; master’s students need Level 3.
- Graduate applications list a supervisor acceptance letter and an 800-word research proposal.
- Suzhou joint degrees have separate admission conditions and must not be assumed available through the international route.

## Best fit for

- Applicants prepared to learn Chinese alongside English-taught degree study.
- Architecture and planning applicants with a suitable portfolio.
- Master’s applicants ready to identify a supervisor and prepare a research proposal.

## Campus and city

Nanjing study is spread across Sipailou, Jiulonghu and Dingjiaqiao campuses. Sipailou is at 2 Sipailou in central Nanjing; Jiulonghu is in Jiangning, while Dingjiaqiao is beside Hunan Road. SEU also has Wuxi and Suzhou locations. Confirm the programme’s teaching allocation rather than assuming the international admissions office is its classroom location.

Southeast University’s Nanjing campuses occupy different parts of the city: central Sipailou, Jiulonghu in Jiangning and Dingjiaqiao near Hunan Road. The university’s campus guide describes Metro Line 3 links between the Sipailou and Jiulonghu areas. Suzhou joint-college routes have separate awards and admission arrangements.

Architecture and urban planning combine studio or design study with practical work and a graduation project. The current Urban Planning curriculum includes urban and rural development, design, planning history and practice. Both current undergraduate brochures specify prescribed credits and a graduation GPA of at least 2.0; the planning award is Bachelor of Engineering and the architecture award Bachelor of Architecture.

## Hostel, food and safety

The 2027 international guide quotes CNY 9,000 per year for one bed in a double room. Sipailou international student accommodation is on Chengxian Street; Jiulonghu campus facilities include shops and canteens near the student residences. Confirm the exact room and campus allocation before making housing arrangements.

Sipailou dining includes Shatangyuan and Xiangyuan canteens. Jiulonghu has Juyuan, Meiyuan and Taoyuan canteens, and Dingjiaqiao has Yilin Canteen. Campus ID cards are used to buy food; meal costs are separate from the quoted accommodation bed charge.

The 2027 guide requires a non-criminal record and a physical examination. The published insurance charge is CNY 800 per year. SEU Hospital is beside Sipailou student accommodation on Chengxian Street, while Zhongda Hospital is south of Dingjiaqiao Campus.

The College of International Students manages international admission and enrolled-student services. Its official channels cover study, language activities and campus life. Students Traffic can help compare programme conditions and prepare an application document plan.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Southeast University a recognised public university?

Southeast University appears on the Ministry of Education’s directly administered university list. Its history traces to Sanjiang Normal College in 1902. It is based in Nanjing and is distinct from similarly named institutions in other countries.

### Are computer science and AI undergraduate courses English-taught?

The 2027 international undergraduate table lists Computer Science and Technology and Artificial Intelligence without an English-taught label. Its English routes include architecture, planning, civil and transportation engineering, and international economics and trade. Do not infer English delivery from an English university webpage.

### Do English-taught degrees require Chinese?

Yes. The current guide requires English-taught undergraduates to reach HSK Level 4 before graduation and English-taught master’s students HSK Level 3. These are graduation requirements; they are separate from the Chinese-taught programmes’ entry thresholds.

### What is the undergraduate age requirement?

The 2027 international guide requires non-Chinese applicants to be aged at least eighteen and hold a senior high-school graduation qualification. It also sets nationality and overseas-residence conditions for applicants with Chinese-nationality connections. Confirm that you meet the exact conditions before applying.

### Which CSCA subjects are needed?

Architecture, Urban Planning and International Economics and Trade require Mathematics. Civil Engineering and Transportation Engineering require Mathematics and Physics. Use the exact programme table when registering; subject combinations depend on the degree.

### What English results are accepted?

The 2027 guide lists TOEFL at least 80, IELTS at least 6.0 or Duolingo at least 100. Its exemption applies where English is an official or native language. Do not assume an English-medium school certificate alone establishes the same exemption.

### What do architecture and planning applicants submit?

The current English undergraduate brochures require a portfolio showing art or design interest and ability, no more than twenty pages and under 20 MB. Architecture is a five-year Bachelor of Architecture; Urban Planning is a four-year Bachelor of Engineering. Both publish a graduation GPA requirement of at least 2.0.

### What are the tuition and housing references?

The exact English Architecture and Urban Planning undergraduate brochures list CNY 33,000 per year. The 2027 general schedule uses broad tuition categories; confirm the named programme’s allocation where a fee is labelled approximate. The guide separately lists CNY 9,000 per year for a bed in a double room, CNY 800 annual insurance and a CNY 800 application fee.

### Do master’s applicants need a supervisor letter?

The 2027 graduate guide lists a supervisor acceptance letter among application materials, alongside two recommendations and a research proposal of at least 800 words. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree and must be under thirty-five. Some programmes, including architecture, also require a portfolio.

### How long are the English master’s programmes?

The current table gives three years for most English master’s routes. Public Health and Engineering Management are two-year routes. Electronic and Information Engineering is listed under two different schools; choose the exact school and programme entry.

### When can I apply for 2027 entry?

Undergraduate batches run November 2026–February 2027, March–May 2027 and June 2027. Self-funded graduate applications run November 2026–May 2027, with separate scholarship batches. Registration is late August to early September; the admission notice gives the exact date.

### Can I assume the Suzhou Monash double degree uses the same route?

No. The Suzhou International College publishes separate joint-degree and national-examination arrangements. Monash’s process requires admission to SEU before the Monash stage. Confirm the exact applicant category, awards and duration rather than treating a Monash coursework component as an automatic SEU double degree.

### Will the admissions office determine my teaching campus?

SEU has Sipailou, Jiulonghu and Dingjiaqiao campuses in Nanjing, plus other locations. A school’s postal address or an international-office location does not by itself establish every programme’s classroom campus. Use the offer and school instructions to confirm accommodation and teaching arrangements.
