- Separate engineering and MBA routes with programme-specific academic requirements.

## Things to consider

- Use college code 1419 for the Engineering College; other Sairam institutions have separate identities.
- Historical undergraduate and MBA induction dates do not announce future admission windows.
- Get current programme and quota-specific tuition and living-cost quotations.

## Best fit for

- Indian applicants comparing engineering programmes through the TNEA counselling route.
- Graduates seeking a full-time MBA through the verified DTE counselling route.
- Students ready for regular campus attendance, practical work and structured development activities.

## Campus and city

The West Tambaram campus has academic buildings, laboratories, a digital library, sports facilities, clubs and separate hostels for men and women. Undergraduate R2024 includes a three-week induction, personality-development activities and student clubs alongside the academic curriculum.

The college is at Sai Leo Nagar, West Tambaram, Chennai 600044, in Tamil Nadu. Its registered admissions office is in T.Nagar, which is different from the teaching campus. Check the daily travel route or hostel arrangements before choosing between commuting and campus accommodation. Sri Sairam Institute of Technology is a separate institution even though both belong to the Sairam group.

Undergraduate R2024 includes laboratory study, industry-connected courses, internship and project work. Students progress through idea generation, validation, prototype development and final project stages, with faculty supervision and relevant industry guidance where approved. The MBA uses professional courses, experiential learning and projects. These academic requirements and training support do not guarantee employment or a specific placement outcome.

## Hostel, food and safety

The college advertises separate hostels for men and women, with AC and non-AC rooms, internet connectivity, reading and recreation areas, gym and sports facilities. Request the current room allocation, availability and complete accommodation budget before accepting a place.

The campus has a cafeteria serving students and staff. The public page does not establish a complete dietary menu or individual dietary accommodation; confirm vegetarian/non-vegetarian availability, allergy requirements and mess costs before choosing accommodation.

The college publishes a student code of conduct and maintains an anti-ragging committee and squad. Applicants should read the campus and hostel rules and use the institution’s reporting and grievance procedures for concerns.

The college maintains student grievance procedures, anti-ragging committees, clubs and academic support through its departments. Undergraduate regulations include faculty supervision, induction and structured skill development; admission applicants use the process for their verified route.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Sri Sairam Engineering College autonomous?

Yes. UGC lists autonomous status from 2019-20 to 2028-29. Anna University lists the college as an affiliated autonomous institution with TNEA counselling code 1419. These statuses are distinct from programme-specific professional accreditation.

### Where is the teaching campus?

The college is at Sai Leo Nagar, West Tambaram, Chennai 600044. The group’s admissions office in T.Nagar is a different location. Sri Sairam Institute of Technology and other Sairam group colleges are separate teaching institutions.

### Which programmes are covered here?

The supported offerings include 14 current undergraduate engineering branches and the regular MBA. Integrated M.Tech., other master’s, research and advanced-entry routes require separate programme-specific assessment and are not inferred from the undergraduate conditions.

### Are the programmes taught in English?

Undergraduate R2024 specifies English instruction and assessment, with exceptions for Heritage of Tamil, Tamils and Technology, and foreign-language courses. The MBA’s own R2024 specifies English instruction.

### How long do the supported programmes take?

Regular first-entry B.E./B.Tech. programmes take four academic years across eight semesters. The regular full-time MBA takes two years across four semesters. Integrated M.Tech. and lateral-entry routes have separate structures.

### What undergraduate admission route is described?

The verified route is TNEA government counselling for surrendered self-financing seats. Academic-stream applicants need the qualifying HSC/equivalent, PCM threshold and schooling/nativity or specified parent-employment conditions. College code 1419 identifies Sri Sairam Engineering College.

### What are the undergraduate minimum marks?

The 2026 TNEA academic-stream threshold is 45% average in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for General applicants and 40% for the specified Tamil Nadu reserved categories. Reservation and eligibility documents must be valid. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee allotment.

### How does MBA admission work?

The described government-counselling route uses a recognised qualifying bachelor’s degree, the applicable 50% or 45% threshold, TANCET MBA and DTE route conditions. The college has a separate management-quota consortium route; those conditions are not presumed identical.

### What are the verified intake dates?

The signed 2025-26 first-year B.E./B.Tech. schedule names all 14 current branches and begins with Induction Day on 14 August 2025. The MBA department records 29 August 2024 induction for its 2024–26 batch. These historical dates do not announce a future intake or application window.

### What should I budget for fees?

Request a current written programme-and-quota tuition quotation. Confirm compulsory academic charges, examination fees, deposits and any campus logistics, meal arrangements or transport costs separately before accepting a place.

### Are campus logistics available?

The college advertises separate men’s and women’s campus logistics with AC/non-AC rooms and recreation, reading, internet, gym and sports facilities. Confirm allocation, availability, room type and complete charges; general facility availability does not guarantee a room.

### Can foreign, NRI or OCI applicants use these requirements?

These entries describe specified Indian government-counselling routes. Overseas applicant categories need separate qualification, category and programme assessment; the domestic academic minimum is not automatically an overseas eligibility rule.

### Does the college guarantee a job?

No employment outcome is promised here. Undergraduate programmes include practical work, internships, projects and skill development. MBA study also includes applied learning. Training and academic requirements should be assessed separately from any advertised placement claim.
