## Admissions

International applications depend on the exact programme, prior qualification and entry route. Compare the academic and language conditions before submitting documents.

## Why students choose it

- Study computing, engineering, business or humanities through English-taught degree routes.
- Compare a China-based 4+0 model with eligible 2+2 routes to the UK.
- Choose taught or research master’s awards with distinct admission and assessment structures.

## Things to consider

- UK-campus years on 2+2 courses have a separate international tuition basis.
- MSc Computer Science and Professional Accounting run 21 months, rather than the general one-year master’s pattern.
- Translation and Professional Accounting have additional Chinese-language entry conditions.

## Best fit for

- Students seeking English-taught degree study in China with a clearly identified UK awarding route.
- Applicants comparing AI-focused Computer Science with broader computing, data or engineering study.
- Graduates ready to match their prior discipline to a specific taught or research master’s.

## Campus and city

The Ningbo campus brings science and engineering, business, and humanities and social sciences together. Students can use the library, IT services and sports facilities; student clubs and societies provide activities outside classes. Course-specific laboratories and project work matter more than a general facilities claim when choosing your degree.

The university is based at 199 Taikang East Road in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China. It is a distinct Chinese cooperative institution within Nottingham’s international education network. Choose the Ningbo route deliberately: a 4+0 degree stays in China, while a 2+2 route available on selected courses moves the final two years to the UK and changes the tuition basis.

Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence includes AI methods, machine learning, computer vision and optional robotics work with mobile robots. MSc Computer Science combines taught modules with an enhanced research project and dissertation. Business data and fintech courses use practical data-analysis work and specialist laboratories; the exact projects and available modules depend on the chosen programme.

## Hostel, food and safety

New students who firmly accept their offer and apply for accommodation by the relevant deadline are guaranteed a room under the university’s accommodation conditions. Overseas-student housing is approximatelyCNY 11,000–20,000 per academic year, depending on room type. International accommodation includes furnished single bedrooms.

Include meals and personal spending in your living budget alongside accommodation and compulsory insurance. The university’s estimated annual budget includes living expenses; it is not a meal-plan quotation. Match your dietary needs and room arrangements before accepting an accommodation offer.

Incoming-student support covers insurance, pre-arrival planning and induction. The Health and Wellbeing Centre is part of the campus support network. Complete the university’s arrival and insurance requirements before registration.

The Global Engagement Office, Student Affairs Office and admissions/career services support incoming students with arrival, accommodation, induction and university life. Students Traffic can help you compare the course requirements and prepare an application checklist.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is UNNC a public or private university?

UNNC is a non-profit Sino-foreign cooperative university established by Zhejiang Wanli University and the University of Nottingham. Its official institution category is cooperative education, so it is shown separately from the public/private categories.

### Which university awards the degree?

The institution charter provides for UNNC undergraduate graduation and degree certificates together with a University of Nottingham degree. Master’s graduates receive a University of Nottingham degree under the applicable academic requirements.

### Are the degree courses taught in English?

Degree teaching is in English. A language specialisation or translation course can still require Chinese or another language; English teaching does not remove the HSK conditions on relevant programmes.

### Can international students apply to Computer Science with AI?

The BSc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence accepts international applicants through the relevant country-specific qualification route. It can take three or four years, depending on entry qualifications, and offers 4+0 or 2+2 study models.

### Does UNNC offer an AI-related postgraduate course?

MSc Computer Science covers research areas including artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning. It runs 21 months over two academic years, with taught study, an enhanced research project and a dissertation; it should not be described as an MSc Artificial Intelligence award.

### What is the international tuition fee?

The current published Ningbo schedule is CNY 120,000 per year for undergraduate study and CNY 130,000 per year for the master’s offerings shown here. Confirm the rate for your admission cycle; UK years and living expenses are separate.

### What does the 2+2 option mean?

On eligible degrees,2+2 places the final two years at the UK campus. The 4+0 model completes the degree in Ningbo. UK international tuition applies during the UK years, so a Ningbo annual quote is not the full cost of a 2+2 plan.

### When should international students apply?

For September 2027, the international undergraduate and taught postgraduate application pages give 30 June 2027 as the deadline, with final supporting results normally due 15 July 2027. Research master’s applicants should check the separate Graduate School route and intended start.

### How do I apply?

International undergraduate and taught master’s applications go through the university Application Hub; email and postal applications are not accepted. Prepare the academic records, identity documents, reference and personal statement, plus any programme-specific portfolio, CV or interview requirements.

### Is accommodation available?

New students who firmly accept an offer and apply by the accommodation deadline qualify for the university’s conditional room guarantee. Overseas-student accommodation is approximatelyCNY 11,000–20,000 per academic year, depending on room type.

### Do all master’s degrees accept any undergraduate subject?

No. For example, MSc International Business excludes Business/Management backgrounds, whereas MSc International Management requires a business-related degree. Fintech, economics, engineering and research master’s have their own subject conditions.

### Can Students Traffic help me choose a course?

Students Traffic can help compare your academic background, budget and language readiness with the verified course requirements. Request a profile review before building a shortlist, particularly when comparing preliminary-year entry, a 2+2 route or a research master’s.
