A B.A. in General Arts is a bachelor's degree in which students study two or more humanities or social-science subjects together, such as psychology, sociology, political science, history, economics or a language, instead of a single-subject honours degree. The combination is usually fixed at admission, and some programmes let students deepen one subject in a final honours or research year. The degree builds skills in reading, writing, argument and social research and usually lasts three years, or four with an honours year. Graduates often continue to a subject-specific master's degree, teacher education, public-service examinations or roles in the social sector.
