Admission
Some foreign universities may not ask for NEET UG during admissions, but that does not override Indian eligibility rules for future screening or licensing.
Practising in India
To appear for FMGE / NExT and practice medicine in India, NEET must have been qualified before your MBBS program began. Without this, your degree has no legal standing in India.
Agent misinformation — beware
Some agents advise students to start MBBS first and appear for NEET the following year. This is incorrect and harmful. NMC requires NEET qualification before program commencement — appearing after does not validate your degree. NEET scores are also valid for only 3 years from the date of result.

We believe in full transparency. Here are the genuine challenges students face and how to navigate them.
Temperatures can drop well below -20°C. However, universities, hostels, and public transport are centrally heated, so students only face the cold during brief transit.
While academics are in English, interacting with local patients or shopping requires basic Russian. Universities make Russian language classes mandatory in the first three years.
Most Russian medical universities provide dedicated hostel accommodation for international students in separate blocks close to campus. Indian student communities in cities like Kazan, Volgograd, and Orenburg have established Indian mess facilities. Monthly hostel costs range from $80–150/month including utilities. Private housing is available in most cities for students who prefer independent arrangements after the first year.
The Russian Government offers limited fully or partially funded seats each year through Rossotrudnichestvo (the Russian Agency for International Cooperation). Some universities also offer merit-based tuition reductions of 10–20% for academically strong students. Scholarship availability changes each academic cycle — verify through the official Rossotrudnichestvo portal or the Russian Embassy in India well before the September intake deadline.
