Meals are billed separately from the residence charge. Each student pays a fixed minimum of INR 10,000 a semester (INR 20,000 a year) towards dining. Meals beyond that are charged pro rata through a meal-coupon system, with a full day of meals costing about INR 315. Ashoka's budget guide suggests about INR 5,000 a month for food outside the buffet and combo mess meals.
Ashoka provides health insurance for all students, with details at registration. Arrivals are met at the airport by university staff with an institutional banner who check an emailed code, and Ashoka warns students not to follow anyone without an official badge or hand over their passport. Foreign nationals must complete e-FRRO registration within 14 days of arrival, supported by documents from the Assistant Registrar. The Ashoka University International Student Association (AUISA) works with university offices, helps with campus check-in and pairs new arrivals with buddies. Resident Assistants and Cohort Leaders help with course registration.
