BITS Pilani reports more than 16,500 students on its three Indian campuses, all fully residential. Pilani houses about 4,500 students in 11 boys' hostels and a girls' hostel complex, with a 65,000 sq ft library of about 2,30,000 volumes, a 25 m pool and a Student Activities Centre. The K K Birla Goa campus covers 180 acres above the Zuari River, and the Hyderabad campus over 200 acres. Students run clubs and festivals, including BOSM (sports), OASIS (culture) and APOGEE (academics) at Pilani.
All three campuses are fully residential, with separate hostels for men and women. For the 2026-27 ISA intake, hostel and internet charges are INR 82,250 per semester, plus a mess and electricity advance of INR 10,000 and other advances of INR 12,000 per semester; the advance is adjusted against actual bills each semester, and food and electricity beyond it are charged separately. A summer term costs 50 per cent of the semester hostel fee. Goa and Hyderabad rooms are furnished, with internet, round-the-clock security and floor common rooms. Parents can book the VFAST guest house at Pilani.
At Pilani, each pair of boys' hostels shares a kitchen-cum-mess and the girls' hostel has its own mess; every mess serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian food and is run by a students' committee. Mess bills are settled against the INR 10,000 per-semester advance. Pilani also has the AKSHAY supermarket of the BITS consumers' cooperative, and Goa and Hyderabad each have an on-campus shopping complex.
Hostels at the Goa and Hyderabad campuses have round-the-clock security. The Pilani Medical Centre has a full-time physician and a gynaecologist in morning and evening outpatient hours, a weekly dental surgeon and paediatrician, and a clinical laboratory; Goa and Hyderabad also have campus medical centres. Health insurance is not part of the ISA fee. The Office of International Students facilitates FRRO/FRO registration, due within 14 days of arrival. A paid orientation week covers local travel, room and board and a guided city tour.
