Shiv Nadar is fully residential. Gender-segregated hostels are spread over 18 buildings with twin and single rooms, AC and non-AC, some with attached bathrooms, allotted by course and availability. Each hostel has wardens, 24/7 security, power backup and internet, Wi-Fi in common areas, and air-conditioned 24x7 study rooms under CCTV with access control. For the 2026 intake, living charges are INR 2,43,500 a year for AC twin sharing or INR 2,28,500 for non-AC twin sharing, covering hostel, mess, laundry and 24x7 primary medical services. A higher room category, if allotted, is billed extra.

Mess charges are included in the annual living charge. Four meals are served daily (breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner), plus a midnight mess from 23:00 to 02:00.
