Its 12 schools teach the sciences, humanities, social sciences, economics, management, computing, engineering, medical sciences and the performing and visual arts through integrated, master's, M.Tech and doctoral programmes.
UoH is a unitary university with every school, department and centre on its roughly 2,000-acre Gachibowli campus, split into North and South campuses; a separate city campus, the Golden Threshold, was Sarojini Naidu's home. Facilities include the Indira Gandhi Memorial Library, a DST-funded high-performance computing facility and Centre for Nanotechnology, two food courts, two shopping complexes, three ATMs, a post office and a health centre. The main sports complex has a cricket pavilion, 400 m track, indoor badminton stadium and fitness centre, and a second complex adds football, tennis, basketball and a women's fitness centre.

Allotment is managed by the Chief Warden's office and each hostel has one or two wardens. The 2026-27 prospectus does not publish hostel or mess charges; they are billed separately from the US-dollar tuition fee.

The two campus shopping complexes include canteens, salons and grocery stores. Three ATMs (near the Administration Building, at the North shopping complex and next to Tagore International House on the South Campus) and a post office next to the Guest House cover daily banking and postal needs.
The UoH Health Centre gives primary health care and emergency services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with round-the-clock ambulance cover (040-23132400). A Psychological Counselling Unit with a female and a male counsellor offers confidential counselling. Student services include anti-ragging squads, the Office of the Chief Proctor, an Equal Opportunities Cell and an Internal Complaints Committee (GS-CASH). The Office for International Affairs (OIA), in the SIP Building on the South Campus, handles international admissions and helps new students settle in, with information on campus services, stay documents and public services.
