Western Engineering offers voluntary paid co-op: a four-month Summer Co-op available in any year, and an 8-16 month Long-Term Co-op/Internship taken before the final year, with employers including General Motors, Linamar, Enbridge Gas, Husky Energy and IBM Canada; reported average pay is about CAD 19/hour for summer co-op and CAD 47,000-50,000 for the year-long internship, and up to 12 months of this work can count toward the 48 months of experience required for P.Eng. licensing in Ontario. All BESc programmes end in a fourth-year capstone design project; Civil Engineering's International Development option adds a four-month overseas Summer Community Development Placement. Ivey's MBA uses a case-based curriculum of 300+ cases a year plus an applied capstone or consulting-style project, and reports an 89% job-offer rate within six months of graduation with average total compensation of about CAD 123,932.
