B.F.Tech at National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai: Eligibility & Requirements

Admission depends on the qualification and applicant-category requirements for this programme.

• Pass recognised 10+2, NIOS with at least five subjects, or an accepted equivalent qualification.
• Mathematics is required at the senior-secondary/equivalent level for the 10+2 admission route.
• Alternatively, a three- or four-year engineering diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board after Class 10 can qualify.
• Regular undergraduate applicants must be under 24 on 1 August of the admission year; SC, ST and PwD applicants receive a five-year relaxation.
• Applicants using a foreign qualification must obtain the required equivalence; international-category applicants need working knowledge of English.
• For the separate foreign-national/NRI/OCI/PIO/SAARC category, the undergraduate age must also be under 24 on 1 August of the admission year; do not assume the regular-category relaxation applies to this separate route.
• Open to: Indian citizens under the regular route
• Open to: Foreign nationals, NRI, OCI, PIO and SAARC applicants under the separate international category
• Applicant-category status must be documented; international-category candidates follow the SAT or GMAT route rather than the regular NIFT entrance examination.
• Foreign qualifications require AIU/UGC equivalence before admission; international applicants need working knowledge of English.
