Practical training & industry exposure
Engineering undergraduates can apply for an optional one-year industrial placement or a year of study abroad with partner universities, extending the standard programme by 12 months; recent Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences placement partners include Arm, Lloyds Banking Group, Jaguar Land Rover, BAE Systems Naval Ships, Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix (the Mercedes F1 team) and Unilever. Leeds University Business School's Full-Time MBA is built around three live employer-facing challenges, culminating in a capstone project delivering a business plan for a real product or service, plus an optional international study tour that has previously visited Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan and Zurich. Law students can pursue pro bono and community-engagement placements coordinated by the School of Law's dedicated Employability Officers. PhD Computer Science candidates work within the School of Computer Science's research groups and are based in the Bragg Building's postgraduate research laboratories.
