International applicants should compare programme language, nationality rules, entrance routes, fees, scholarship conditions and student-visa requirements institution by institution.
Admission process
Italy
Italy is one of Europe's most respected destinations for English-medium MBBS/MD education. Indian students choose Italy for its globally ranked public universities, WHO and NMC-recognised 6-year medicine programs, affordable tuition compared to Western Europe, and the IMAT-based admission pathway that rewards academic preparation over connections.
Admission process
China
Students consider China for its large research universities, extensive technical and scientific training, growing English-taught graduate provision and government scholarship routes. The practical trade-off is that many undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are Chinese-medium or bilingual, while English-taught options have their own eligibility, language and deadline rules.

Italy
Italian public medical universities offer degrees recognised by WHO, NMC, and ECFMG — giving Indian graduates eligibility for FMGE/NExT licensing and international practice. Tuition fees are significantly lower than the UK or Australia. IMAT is an objective, entrance-exam-based pathway with test centres in India. Italy's medical education traces back to the world's first university (Bologna, 1088) and Padova (1222), giving Indian students an academic heritage unmatched in European medicine.
