Engineering and ICT students can apply for paid placements through IAESTE Malta, which places students from the Faculties of Engineering, ICT, Science, Architecture and Pharmacy with local and international employers, and through the University's own annual Summer internship sponsors scheme and the Faculty of Engineering's dedicated Internship Scheme. Named local employers include Lufthansa Technik Malta, an aircraft line- and base-maintenance (MRO) joint venture at Malta International Airport that works with Maltese engineering graduates, and the Malta Gaming Authority, which has hosted ICT internships. The B.Eng.(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering culminates in an individual, industry-informed Engineering Project, with curriculum content reviewed by an Industrial Advisory Board of local and international employers; the BSc (Hons) in Computing Science ends in a Final Year Project; and the International MBA's second year includes a 30-ECTS Applied Research Project for a real organisation, guided by a supervisor or mentor, plus an optional study tour to a European city.
