The Bachelor of Agriculture requires 28 weeks of paid full-time practical work, normally including 10–14 weeks on a dairy farm and 10–14 weeks on a sheep or beef farm, with remaining time possible in an allied industry. Lincoln's 2026 Academic Calendar describes university farms, a vineyard and winery, the National Vine Collection and the Biological Husbandry Unit at the Te Waihora campus. Landscape Architecture students work through studio and applied design projects, while agriculture, horticulture, environmental and tourism programmes connect coursework with real land, visitor and industry contexts.
