Clinical exposure
The six-year, 384-ECTS curriculum runs roughly three pre-clinical years followed by three years with a growing share of clinical training, plus a mandatory 20 weeks of summer clerkship spread across the programme; clinical training makes up 50-74% of the full curriculum per the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools. Clinical instruction takes place at the university's own teaching hospitals -- the Independent Public Central Clinical Hospital, Jozef Polikarp Brudzinski Public Pediatric Clinical Hospital, Infant Jesus Clinical Hospital, Duchess Anna Mazowiecka Hospital, the Independent Public Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital, the University Dental Center and the University Centre of Mother and Child's Health -- plus a dedicated Medical Simulation Centre. Graduates receive the Polish Lekarz qualification, which carries EU-wide automatic recognition once the Lekarski Egzamin Koncowy final exam and a postgraduate internship are also completed.
