Clinical & support
Clinical exposure
The six-year, 360-ECTS curriculum runs three years of basic sciences (anatomy, physiology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology) followed by clinical rotations from Year 4 in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, psychiatry and radiology, continuing through Year 5 with further rotations and final exams, and Year 6 with remaining mandatory rotations, subspecialties and elective clinical placements. Patient contact begins from Year 2. Clinical training runs across the university's own hospital network -- the University Clinical Hospital in Poznan (four locations), the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Clinical Hospital, the Wiktor Dega Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Clinical Hospital and the Karol Jonscher Clinical Hospital -- totalling roughly 2,200 beds, plus a palliative-care teaching unit and a University Center for Dentistry and Specialized Medicine. Graduates receive the Polish Lekarz qualification, which carries EU-wide automatic recognition once the national final licensing exam and a postgraduate internship are also completed.
