The five-year MBChB (following a one-year Health Professions Foundation Programme for applicants without qualifying A-Level grades) runs preclinical foundations in Years 1-2, with hospital-based clinical rotations across Years 3-5: Internal Medicine (30 weeks), General Surgery (30 weeks), Paediatrics (20 weeks), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (20 weeks), Psychiatry (10 weeks) and Community Medicine (10 weeks). Clinical training runs across a named hospital network: Chainama Hills Hospital (250 beds), University Teaching Hospital Adult and Children's sites (2,000+ and 350 beds respectively), Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital (1,000 beds), Cancer Disease Hospital (252 beds) and Maina Soko Military Hospital (260+ beds). Post-graduation internship is provided in a teaching hospital under consultant supervision. Graduates receive the MBChB degree.
