Is the 6-Year MD Program direct-entry after high school?

Yes. The WHO World Directory of Medical Schools separately lists BSMU's 6-Year English MD Program as direct-entry (prerequisite: completed secondary education), distinct from a separate 4-year graduate-entry MD Program that requires a prior undergraduate degree.

What is the current tuition fee?

USD 6,300 per year for the 6-Year English MD Program, confirmed on BSMU's official 'Annual Fees in 2026/2027 academic year' page, with the first advance payment (50% of the annual figure) due by 16 September 2026.

Is there an entrance exam?

Admission for direct-entry foreign applicants is based on an interview covering English (or Russian) language, Chemistry and Biology, rather than a written entrance exam -- no IELTS or TOEFL certificate is required for this route.

When can I apply and when does the academic year start?

The interview-based admission window for the 2026/27 cycle runs 13 July to 15 October 2026, subject to available seats, with the academic year anchored around early-to-mid September 2026.

Are there any current travel or payment complications to be aware of?

Yes. Travel to Belarus typically requires transit through Russia or Central Asia, and Indian passport holders transiting Moscow need a separate Russian transit visa. BSMU's own fee page also states that USD payments to its primary account are temporarily unavailable, with payments redirected through a Belarusian-ruble account instead.

Is university accommodation available?

BSMU operates 12 student dormitories across Minsk, though no specific official room rate is published; confirm current pricing directly with BSMU's dormitory office before budgeting.

Are scholarships available?

No BSMU-specific scholarship for international fee-paying students was confirmed on the university's official site; international enrollment is described uniformly as fee-based, with budget-funded seats reserved only for citizens of countries with bilateral agreements with Belarus.

Can this degree be used to practice medicine outside Belarus?

Graduates are eligible to apply for ECFMG Certification (US pathway). For India specifically, graduates would need to separately satisfy India's National Medical Commission FMGE/NExT screening requirements and hold an NMC Eligibility Certificate obtained before starting the course; this general framework was not independently verified against an NMC source for this specific programme.
