Question 1

Which English programmes are verified?

Accepted Answer

The current autumn 2026 guide lists four-year Software Engineering and two-year Mechanical Engineering, MBA, Computer Application Technology, and Information and Communication Engineering. The complete inventory also records current CSC supervisor subjects and older standing programmes; additional rows with unverified exact duration or qualifications remain held.

Question 2

Is the next intake open?

Accepted Answer

The verified application deadline was 30 June 2026, with classes starting 28 August 2026. Those dates are historical. Ask the official admissions office for the next published calendar; no open intake is promised.

Question 3

Can a class be cancelled for low numbers?

Accepted Answer

The brochure sets a minimum of 20 students for English Software Engineering and 10 for each of the four English master’s classes. Confirm whether the class will run, how this affects payments and what options apply before committing.

Question 4

What English scores are needed?

Accepted Answer

The general guide agrees on IELTS 5.5, Duolingo 95 or EF SET 60 for non-native English applicants. Its Chinese TOEFL threshold is 67 and English threshold 72. The UG Chinese materials also use EF SET B2 wording. The applicable TOEFL/EF SET interpretation needs written clarification; no conflicting threshold is silently selected. CSC has separate IELTS 6.0/TOEFL 80 or prior English-instruction evidence.

Question 5

What academic results and age limits apply?

Accepted Answer

General English UG requires a high-school qualification and age under 30. General master’s admission requires a bachelor’s degree and age under 35. The Chinese general master’s version states 65% or CGPA 2.5/4, while English states 2.6/4; the disputed threshold is held. Scholarship grade requirements are additional, not substitutes.

Question 6

Does Software Engineering require CSCA?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The current guide specifies Mathematics and Physics. Where a score report is not yet available, it allows proof of exam registration. Applicants under 18 additionally need legal guardian documents for China.

Question 7

What are the tuition and housing costs?

Accepted Answer

Dated autumn 2026 tuition is CNY 20,000 per year for English UG and CNY 22,000 for the four general English masters. Double-room accommodation is CNY 3,000 per semester per bed; application fee CNY 400, admission deposit CNY 3,000 and annual insurance CNY 800 are separate. These are indicative historical quotes, not confirmed later-cohort prices.

Question 8

How does the undergraduate scholarship work?

Accepted Answer

The first-year English UG scholarship reduces tuition by 30%, leaving CNY 14,000. Years two to four have 100%, 50% or 30% reductions for prior average marks of at least 85, 75 or 65 respectively, subject to attendance above 85%, no retake/repeat and no violations. Continued support is conditional.

Question 9

How does the general English master’s scholarship work?

Accepted Answer

Applicants with at least 70% or CGPA 2.8/4 may compete for 10 partial-scholarship places per major. First-year tuition reduction is 50%; second-year reduction is 100% if attendance exceeds 85%, no subject is failed and there are no violations. Selection is competitive and first come until full; recipients are in principle required to live on campus. Applicants below scholarship criteria must use the self-paid category.

Question 10

Are CSC and Jilin scholarships the same route?

Accepted Answer

No. The 2026 CSC scheme uses Type B code 10186 and a separate supervisor catalogue, with its own language, supervision and document rules; its 28 February deadline is historical. The provincial scheme had seven places, a 29 May–20 June 2026 application window, high GPA requirements, conditional fee/housing coverage and CNY 1,700 monthly allowance. Additional provincial subjects such as Biomedical Engineering are held where exact duration/instruction are unconfirmed.

Question 11

Where will I live and study?

Accepted Answer

The brochure places international residence on floors 9–12 of Huayuan Hotel at South Campus. It describes single/double options, bathrooms, floor kitchens, laundry, hot water, Wi-Fi, activity facilities and 24-hour surveillance. The priced route is a double bed; availability and actual teaching location require confirmation. Separate external-location CSC supervision is not treated as the same campus.

Question 12

What financial and application documents are required?

Accepted Answer

The general routes require a bank balance of at least CNY 50,000 in the applicant’s or guardian’s account, documented within three months, plus medical and non-criminal records valid six months. Masters also need a 500-word Chinese/English plan and two professor recommendations. Follow the exact translation, passport, visa and minor-guardian requirements.

Question 13

Which official office should I contact?

Accepted Answer

Use admission-sie@cust.edu.cn. The current brochure names Chi Ren at +86 431 85583294 and Liu Senhua at +86 431 85583292, School of International Education, 7186 Weixing Road, Changchun. These are admissions contacts; no partnership-signing authority or existing agency authorisation is asserted.
