Is the Doctor of Medicine programme direct-entry after high school?

Yes. Admission follows completion of secondary education, with no separate bachelor's stage required first.

What qualification is awarded on graduation?

Graduates receive the MD (Doctor of Medicine), a Cypriot medical qualification listed under EU Directive 2005/36/EC Annex V for automatic recognition across the EU/EEA, with European University Cyprus explicitly named as an approved awarding body.

What entrance exam does the university require?

There is no dedicated medical-school entrance exam. Admission is grade-based (roughly a 90% secondary-school average or equivalent, with Biology plus one of Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics), accepting GCE A-Levels, IB Higher Level and Abitur; the university reserves the right to conduct an interview for selected candidates.

What is the current tuition fee?

EUR 23,000 per year, per the university's official 2026/27 international-student fee schedule. Students who choose USA-based clinical training in years 4-6 pay an additional EUR 6,000 per year for those years.

Are there additional fees besides tuition?

Yes -- a non-refundable EUR 200 application fee specific to Medicine (higher than the standard EUR 80 undergraduate application fee).

Is a scholarship available for international Medicine students?

No. Medicine is explicitly excluded from every standard EUC scholarship category (High School, Academic Excellence, Alumni, Athletic, and need-based Financial Aid), so no institutional discount applies to this programme.

When does the academic year start and when can I apply?

The academic year begins in October. The university has not published a fixed Medicine-specific deadline; it cites a general 15 September deadline (subject to early fill for high demand) and advises non-EU applicants to submit visa-relevant documents at least 3 months before the October start.

Is university accommodation available for international students?

EUC does not operate a traditional dormitory but partners with several private student residences near campus, with weekly rates roughly EUR 150-350 depending on the building and room type; students generally apply directly to their chosen residence after enrollment.

Do Indian students need NEET to join this programme?

The university's own admissions criteria do not reference NEET. Separately, India's National Medical Commission requires Indian citizens and OCI holders who obtain a primary medical qualification abroad to have qualified NEET-UG, whose result serves as the mandatory Eligibility Certificate.
