Glasgow Caledonian University: Hostel & Accommodation

GCU's Caledonian Court is directly across from the Glasgow campus. For 2026/27 it lists standard rooms at £146 a week and ensuite rooms at £169 a week on 41-week contracts, including heat, light, power and internet. Rooms are limited; an application is not a guarantee of an offer and acceptance requires a £650 advance payment.

GCU's current budgeting guide allocates £190 a month for food and household goods. The university does not publish an MSc Computer Science meal plan or included food charge, so food remains a separate part of the Glasgow living-cost plan.

The MSc is taught in Glasgow. GCU says the programme uses industry-standard facilities and tools including IBM, Microsoft, Google, Apache, AWS, Weka, Databricks and MongoDB. Core study covers human-computer interaction, programming principles, software engineering and DevOps, information security, data visualisation and a dissertation.

GCU provides a SafeZone app that lets students alert campus Security for emergency response, first aid or general help. The university says campus Security is available 24/7 and publishes 0141 331 3787 for on-campus emergencies; off-campus emergencies require 999. GCU lists free, confidential Student Wellbeing support, counselling, disability support, IT help and its Visa Immigration Support and Advice team. The Supporting Student Success scheme also uses trained Student Ambassadors to help students navigate academic, wellbeing and practical support.
