Question 1

Is GDUT the same as South China University of Technology?

Accepted Answer

No. Guangdong University of Technology is a separate public university, institution code 4144011845 in the 2026 Ministry of Education list. Its present form dates to a 1995 merger, with undergraduate study history traced to 1958.

Question 2

Which English bachelor programmes are currently supported?

Accepted Answer

E-Commerce Business, Computer Science and Technology, and International Economics and Trade. The exact current annex lists all three as available, each four years. A September 2026 orientation report independently confirms active English study in those three fields.

Question 3

Why are other English engineering majors excluded?

Accepted Answer

The same annex explicitly labels nine programmes as not yet enrolling, including Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Chemical, Civil, Business Administration, Materials, Environmental Engineering and Architecture. Listing a future subject does not establish an open English route.

Question 4

Can I choose an English master here?

Accepted Answer

The current guide describes graduate teaching in Chinese with some courses in English, and only a 2–3 year master-duration range. The reviewed sources do not independently establish a complete English master route. Those rows remain inventoried outside this verified English shortlist.

Question 5

What qualification and duration are established?

Accepted Answer

The three verified routes are nominal four-year bachelor programmes. GDUT awards a bachelor qualification after the approved curriculum, thesis defence and degree review are passed. Confirm the exact diploma designation with the university; a more specific named award is not inferred from the generic degree level.

Question 6

What English score do I need?

Accepted Answer

Non-native English speakers submit a valid TOEFL score of at least 80 or IELTS of at least 5.5. Applicants unable to provide those standard reports must take and pass the IEC English test. No automatic English-medium-school waiver or alternative test is invented.

Question 7

Will I need Chinese despite English teaching?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The published international-student rules require Chinese and China Overview courses. Foreign-language bachelor students must reach at least level four under《国际汉语能力标准》by graduation. The source does not itself make that an HSK 4 certificate or 180 point requirement; ask IEC about the current assessment.

Question 8

What are the basic age and academic conditions?

Accepted Answer

Applicants are non-Chinese citizens aged 18–30 with a high-school qualification equivalent to the Chinese senior high-school diploma, suitable health and conduct, and no criminal record. Relevant Chinese-parentage or former-Chinese-citizenship cases have additional nationality and overseas-residence evidence rules.

Question 9

What documents and extra tests should I prepare?

Accepted Answer

Prepare the official degree application form, ordinary passport, high-school diploma or pre-graduation evidence, full transcripts and recent stamped medical results. Prior China-study applicants supply conduct records. Confirm any current CSCA or additional faculty assessment; the reviewed annex does not establish programme-specific subjects, scores or a waiver.

Question 10

When are applications and registration?

Accepted Answer

The Spring 2026-labelled guide explicitly gives autumn entry for degrees. Its degree deadline was 30 June 2026 and registration was expected in lateAugust/earlySeptember 2026. Those dates have passed. Confirm the next round and exact dates; no Spring degree start or 2027 window is assumed.

Question 11

What tuition and housing costs are published?

Accepted Answer

The indicative 2026 English-bachelor tuition is CNY 23000 per year, with CNY 500 application fee. Campus accommodation varies by location and room, with annual examples from CNY 4000 for an HEMC quad to CNY 21600 for a Dongfeng single, plus deposit and separate expenses. Confirm the future invoice and allocation.

Question 12

Are housing or scholarships guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

No. Campus rooms require a reservation application and are allocated first-come; school-approved off-campus arrangements may be needed if full. The guide says outstanding degree applicants may apply for Guangdong Government scholarships, with academic, leadership or special-talent assessment. No award amount, automatic funding or renewal is promised.

Question 13

How can Students Traffic support preparation?

Accepted Answer

Students Traffic can help compare the three verified English choices, organise the document checklist, identify Chinese graduation obligations and plan a campus budget. Apply through GDUT’s official portal. Admission, scholarships, visas, housing and degree awards remain subject to official assessment and decisions.
