Which English bachelor programmes are verified?

The current intake and international plans support eleven: mechanical design/manufacturing/automation, telecommunications, computer science, software engineering, AI, electronic-information engineering, materials, digital economy/digital trade, business management, communication and English. Communication’s verified curriculum is the International Chinese Communication direction.

Which master routes are included?

Mechanical Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Applied Economics, and the English Language and Literature direction under the current Foreign Languages and Literatures intake. All four have matching three-year international plans. Other current titles are held where exact duration, qualification or independent English delivery is unresolved.

How long do the verified degrees take?

Bachelor plans are nominally four years, with flexible three-to-six-year arrangements requiring university approval. The supported academic masters are three years, normally one year coursework plus two years research, thesis preparation and defence. Flexibility is not a guaranteed accelerated degree.

What degrees are awarded?

The engineering bachelors award Bachelor of Engineering; Digital Economy awards Bachelor of Economics, Business Management Bachelor of Management, and Communication/English Bachelor of Arts. The master plans retain their exact engineering, economics or Master of Arts wording. No foreign second award or professional equivalence is automatic.

Do English applicants need IELTS or a specific score?

The 2026 guide asks for one result from IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo or EF SET. It does not publish a numeric threshold or automatic exemption. Ask HDU for the current programme standard rather than using an older guide’s score.

Does English instruction remove Chinese study requirements?

No. International plans include Chinese and China-related study. The Business Management and English bachelor plans specifically require Chinese level four or equivalent under the International Chinese Language Proficiency Standards at graduation. That wording is not an English-entry HSK requirement.

What are the age and academic requirements?

The reviewed guide requires non-Chinese citizens aged at least 18. Bachelor applicants are 18–25 and submit high-school qualifications; master applicants are under 32 and submit undergraduate qualifications. Programme assessment, health, financial and document requirements also apply.

What documents do master applicants need?

Prepare the bachelor qualification and transcripts, English evidence, two recommendations from associate professors or professors, and a study plan of at least 1000 words. Identity, health, financial, non-criminal and prior-China-study documents are also required as applicable, with notarised Chinese or English translations.

Does SONIS fund the full degree?

The 2026 HDU SONIS new-student scheme was first-year only: first class covered the first academic year’s tuition and accommodation, and second class covered first-year tuition. Selection and the final award are conditional; it is not a promise of full-degree funding or automatic renewal.
