Hefei University of Technology: FAQ

For the verified 2026 cohort, undergraduate applicants need a high-school diploma and age 25 or below; CSC master applicants need a bachelor’s degree and age 35 or below. Both require previous academic performance of at least 75%, non-Chinese citizenship and good physical/mental health. Confirm the next cohort’s exact requirements.

The published thresholds are IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 85, TOEFL Essentials 9 or Duolingo 100 or above. Applicants unable to supply standardised certificates may provide proof that the previous academic stage was taught in Chinese/English, following the stated requirements. No automatic native-speaker exemption is invented.

Computer Science and Technology and Civil Engineering require Mathematics and Physics. The English major requires Mathematics. CSCA results must be supplied before the application deadline. The source distinguishes English routes from Chinese-taught routes and their professional Chinese tests.

The 2026 guide contains dated nationality/overseas-residence conditions, with different Chinese/English descriptions of the affected applicant category. Former Chinese citizens and applicants of Chinese ancestry should obtain official confirmation of the applicable category and exact residence boundary. Under 18 at registration requires the specified guardian documents.

The 2026 undergraduate guide quotes CNY 22,000 annual tuition, CNY 4,000 annual on-campus accommodation, CNY 800 annual insurance and CNY 400 non-refundable application. It does not establish a room type or master gross tuition. Next-cohort charges remain unconfirmed; a scholarship does not make the general listed price zero.

The English major uses the HFUT Undergraduate Scholarship categories: Type A tuition plus housing, Type B half tuition plus housing, Type C housing. Other English-taught bachelor routes use the English-taught Program Scholarship: Type A two-thirds tuition plus housing, Type B half tuition plus housing, Type C housing. Annual review can reallocate the award type; no award is guaranteed.

The 2026 scheme conditionally covers tuition, accommodation or subsidy, comprehensive insurance and stipend for three years. Its official guide gives no stipend amount here. Annual review applies. Other Chinese funding is barred except one-time rewards; concealment can cause cancellation, repayment and a three-year CSC reapplication bar.

No. The CSC guide explicitly says a supervisor acceptance letter is optional and gives priority. The supervisor-signed study-plan rule is expressly for doctoral applicants. Do not impose that doctorate-only rule on these master’s routes.

No. The undergraduate deadline was 15 June 2026. The CSC procedure used 28 February 2026 for HFUT and 20 March 2026 for nominated applicants’ CSC submissions, with earlySeptember 2026 study. These are historical dates; the next open cohort is unconfirmed. Applicants should follow the actual new notice.

The guides list Ms Hannah and Ms Sarah, phone +86 551 62901697, and hanyy@hfut.edu.cn and 2024850003@hfut.edu.cn. The Chinese guide names Han Yuanyuan and Zhang Han. Use the official HFUT system and your own valid account; nominated CSC applicants then use Type B, agency 10359. The university has not entrusted intermediaries to process its CSC applications.
