Is the English Medicine programme direct-entry after high school?

Yes. Admission requires completion of an accredited high school whose diploma grants access to university studies in the applicant's home country; no prior university degree is required.

What qualification is awarded on graduation?

Graduates receive the Doctor Medic degree, a Romanian medical qualification listed under EU Directive 2005/36/EC Annex V for automatic recognition across the EU/EEA.

What is the current tuition fee?

EUR 10,000 per year for Years 1 and 2, reducing in later years (Year 3: EUR 8,500; Year 4: EUR 8,000; Years 5-6: EUR 7,500 each), totaling EUR 51,500 across the 6-year programme, confirmed for the 2026/27 academic year in the university's official fee schedule.

Is there a separate application fee?

Yes. A non-refundable EUR 300 processing fee applies, plus a confirmation-of-place payment equal to 50% of the tuition fee once admitted, with the remainder payable by bank transfer.

What English-proficiency proof is required?

A minimum B2 CEFR-level English certificate not older than the university's stated validity window, unless the applicant completed secondary schooling in English or achieved B2-equivalent English in their baccalaureate exam.

Is there a written entrance exam?

The university's own official admissions page describes an evaluation-based international admissions route without a written exam, though the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools separately lists an entrance exam as required -- applicants should confirm the current process directly with the university.

When does the academic year start and when can I apply?

Enrollment for admitted students takes place in the last two weeks of September. As of this record's research date, the university's live admissions page showed an extended application deadline of 12 August 2026 for the English Medicine track.

Is university accommodation available?

The university operates dormitories on its Hasdeu and Observator campuses, but its published dormitory-fee page reflects an outdated cycle rather than a current rate; confirm current cost directly with the university.

Can this degree be used to practice medicine outside Romania?

The Doctor Medic qualification carries automatic recognition across the EU/EEA under Directive 2005/36/EC. For India specifically, graduates would need to separately satisfy India's National Medical Commission screening requirements; this was not independently verified against an NMC source during research.
