Madras School of Social Work: Hostel & Accommodation

The current prospectus describes hostel accommodation and gives preference to students from outside Tamil Nadu. Accommodation is separate from academic selection and subject to availability and institutional rules. Batch 2026 rent, mess and maintenance are quoted together at INR 112,900 per year, subject to revision. Confirm the applicable room, facilities, payment schedule and residence rules before accepting a place.

The published hostel charge includes mess alongside rent and maintenance. Confirm the current menu, meal times and any dietary or allergy accommodation directly with the hostel before budgeting. A hostel offer and meal arrangements require separate confirmation; academic admission does not guarantee a residence place or a particular cuisine.

The Egmore campus brings together classroom study, library resources and student forums for social work, psychology and related disciplines. The current prospectus describes morning and afternoon sessions, with undergraduate courses in the morning. Fieldwork, rural camps, outbound training and other programme activities can involve additional attendance and travel beyond classroom hours.

Applicants should obtain the college’s current student-conduct, anti-ragging and grievance procedures during admission or induction. Fieldwork and community activities may require off-campus travel, so confirm the departmental reporting and supervision arrangements. Check residence rules, transport and the emergency contact route for the selected session and any placement activity. The prospectus describes departmental forums, academic guidance, library access and programme-specific development activities. Applicants can use the named admission contacts for qualification, course and selection questions. Confirm current disability support, scholarship conditions and hostel arrangements individually; financial assistance and accommodation are not automatic consequences of academic admission.
