Question 1

Which programmes are available in English?

Accepted Answer

The current international tables establish International Economics and Trade at bachelor’s level and nine master’s programme/school routes. Master’s options include Environmental Science and Engineering, Forestry at two teaching schools, Animal Husbandry, Applied Economics restricted to International Trade, Forestry Engineering, Biology, Ecology, and daily living Science and Engineering. Chinese-only programmes remain outside this English portfolio.

Question 2

How are the master’s research directions organised?

Accepted Answer

Directions belong to the exact programme code and teaching school. Forestry at the School of Forestry lists seven English directions, while Forestry at the Wildlife and Protected Area college lists two. Animal Husbandry has four directions and Environmental Science and Engineering has two. These are not separate degree awards for every research direction.

Question 3

How long do the programmes take?

Accepted Answer

The current international master’s catalogue explicitly gives three years. International Economics and Trade is four years in the university’s current native subject table, which identifies a Bachelor of Economics. The two levels have separate academic requirements and English tuition categories.

Question 4

When should I apply for 2027 entry?

Accepted Answer

General degree applications are due before 30 June 2027 through istudy.nefu.edu.cn, with September 2027 enrolment. The March 2028 date is the spring teaching term, not a verified second degree intake. Scholarship pages describe earlier annual windows; confirm the exact current scheme deadline rather than treating the general deadline as its funding deadline.

Question 5

What English evidence is required?

Accepted Answer

General guidance accepts IELTS 6.0 for the English undergraduate route and IELTS 6.5 for master’s routes, or other English proficiency certificates. TOEFL boundary wording differs: general pages say above 80/above 95, while scholarship pages use their own thresholds. Exact boundary-score eligibility remains unconfirmed; ask the admissions office about the intended route before relying on it.

Question 6

What academic requirements apply?

Accepted Answer

General undergraduate guidance requires high-school graduation or equivalent; master’s guidance requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Both require non-Chinese citizenship and good mental and physical health. General pages do not state a universal age limit. CSC ages and other scholarship conditions apply to their own funding schemes.

Question 7

Is CSCA required for the English undergraduate programme?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The undergraduate guidance requires the score report and Mathematics for all applicants, with Physics or Chemistry confirmed by major. English-medium applicants do not take Professional Chinese. CSCA is not transferred to master’s applications. Confirm the exact additional test subjects for International Economics and Trade with NEFU.

Question 8

Does a master’s application require a supervisor letter?

Accepted Answer

The general page provides the official supervisor directory for research matching, but does not establish a mandatory prior acceptance letter. Master’s applicants must submit two recommendations from professors or associate professors and a research plan of at least 1,000 words in Chinese or English. Follow additional requirements in the exact funding notice or assessment request.

Question 9

What are the tuition and housing costs?

Accepted Answer

Published English tuition is CNY 21,500 annually for the undergraduate route and CNY 30,000 annually for master’s study. Application is CNY 400 and insurance CNY 800 per year. Housing is CNY 500 per person per month in a twin room or CNY 1,000 per person per month in a single room. These monthly housing quotes are not annualised; confirm room availability and actual billing.

Question 10

How does CSC funding work?

Accepted Answer

The standing CSC page describes Type B applications in both the CSC and NEFU systems, agency 10225, during an annual November–March window. Undergraduate applicants must be under 25 with IELTS 6.0/TOEFL 90 or above; master’s applicants under 35 with IELTS 6.5/TOEFL 95 or above. It describes tuition, on-campus housing and application-fee exemption, insurance and monthly allowances of CNY 2,500 undergraduate/CNY 3,000 master’s. Selection is conditional and scholarships cannot be stacked.

Question 11

What does the President Scholarship cover?

Accepted Answer

It is for self-financed international undergraduate or master’s applicants and lasts one year. First Class waives tuition and accommodation, Second Class tuition, and Third Class half tuition. The page gives an annual 30 April deadline and its own language/document conditions. This is not a guaranteed scholarship for the whole degree, and a current award decision is required.

Question 12

Who is the Eurasian scholarship intended for?

Accepted Answer

Its listed main candidate nationalities are Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. It covers graduate study under its own age, language and research conditions, using an annual November–February window. It describes tuition/housing exemption, CNY 800 annual insurance and CNY 3,000 monthly master’s allowance. This scheme’s nationality scope is not a general admission restriction.

Question 13

Who handles official admission questions?

Accepted Answer

The School of International Education and Exchanges lists SIEE@nefu.edu.cn as its general office email. The dedicated contact page identifies Liu Lifei in the Admission Office for recruitment and applicant examination, telephone +86 451 82192454, email liulifei_pamela@163.com. Programme pages separately list regional advisers; South and West Asia are assigned to Ms Lily at nefulml@163.com. Confirm routing and use the official application system; university decisions govern admission and funding.
