Question 1

Which English degrees are verified here?

Accepted Answer

The supported routes are Software Engineering at undergraduate level, four years, and master’s level, three years. The complete inventory retains all 73 undergraduate and 57 master catalogue rows. Eight other English-capable masters remain held because their exact international programme duration is not established.

Question 2

Is this the university in Boston?

Accepted Answer

No. This profile is Northeastern University / 东北大学 in Shenyang, China, founded in 1923. China’s Ministry of Education lists it under institution code 4121010145. The separately published American university has a different institutional identity.

Question 3

What are the current tuition references?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 international undergraduate catalogue lists Software Engineering at CNY 21,000/year. The 2027 master annex lists Software Engineering at CNY 26,000/year. Older school programme pages show earlier fees; current central catalogues control. Obtain final offer terms for the intended admission route.

Question 4

What other costs are published?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 self-funded guide lists CNY 500 application fee, insurance from CNY 800/person/year and accommodation CNY 32–60/person/day according to room type. Payment follows the university notice. These dated references do not guarantee a room or unchanged later-intake charges.

Question 5

Which CSCA subjects apply to Software Engineering?

Accepted Answer

The exact 2026 English undergraduate row specifies Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry. The current guide requires CSCA results for admission review. No professional-Chinese CSCA paper is listed on this English programme row; other majors have different paper requirements.

Question 6

What English evidence is needed for undergraduate admission?

Accepted Answer

The current guide accepts native English or an official-English-country background, or TOEFL, IELTS or other English proficiency evidence. It does not establish a numeric minimum for this UG route. The older school page’s age and fees are not substituted for current central rules.

Question 7

What English evidence applies to the 2027 scholarship master route?

Accepted Answer

In principle TOEFL 80, IELTS 5.5 or Duolingo 100, or evidence the previous study stage was taught in English. Applicants from official-English countries are exempt from English certificates. Where listed evidence is unavailable, the supervisor and department may evaluate language through interview or written test. These are current Type B route rules.

Question 8

Will I need to learn Chinese?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Chinese and China-studies courses are compulsory in the international teaching regulations. The undergraduate plan describes English courses except Chinese Language and PE. Under the international postgraduate regulation, an English thesis needs supervisor and college approval plus a detailed Chinese abstract of at least 5,000 characters; no exact graduation HSK score is inferred.

Question 9

When can I apply?

Accepted Answer

The verified 2027 Type B scholarship window is 1 November 2026–31 January 2027, with enrolment in September 2027. Published 2026 undergraduate deadlines conflict between English and Chinese versions and are now past. Confirm the next undergraduate and general self-funded calendar with NEU.

Question 10

What academic documents are required?

Accepted Answer

Undergraduate applicants provide high-school certificate/transcripts with Chinese translations, CSCA results and an 800-word study plan. The 2027 Type B master route requires bachelor-level evidence/transcripts, a proposal of at least 1,000 words and two professor/associate-professor references. Identity, language, health and police records are separate requirements.

Question 11

Are there age and nationality conditions?

Accepted Answer

Current undergraduate rules require non-Chinese citizenship, completed high school and age at least 16, with a guardian guarantee if under 18. Specified Chinese-parent and former-Chinese cases require nationality and residence checks. The 2027 Type B master route requires a bachelor’s degree and age under 35; do not apply scholarship limits universally to other routes.

Question 12

Do master applicants need supervisor acceptance first?

Accepted Answer

The 2027 Type B guide marks the master’s supervisor acceptance letter optional; it is compulsory for doctoral applicants. Master applicants must still complete both CSC Type B, agency number 10145, and the NEU online application. Scholarship funding is conditional on the award decision, not automatic admission support.

Question 13

Which campus and accommodation will I receive?

Accepted Answer

NEU has multiple Shenyang campuses plus Qinhuangdao and Foshan locations. The Software College publishes a Hunnan address, but the reviewed current catalogue does not establish each teaching and residence assignment. Confirm both in the offer. The dated cover shows South Lake Campus gate, not guaranteed programme accommodation.
