B.E./B.Tech AI & ML at PSG College of Technology — 12 questions answered
These are the most common questions Indian students and families ask before applying for B.E./B.Tech AI & ML at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. Covering admissions, fees, recognition, eligibility, hostel, career outcomes, and the India-return pathway — everything you need before making your decision.
Which PSG institution is this?
This is PSG College of Technology at Peelamedu, Coimbatore, affiliated to Anna University. Its TNEA code is 2006. PSG College of Arts & Science, PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research and PSG Polytechnic have separate admissions.
How long is engineering study?
The listed regular BE/BTech degrees follow a four-year structure. Mechanical Engineering Sandwich is a five-year self-financing route with morning practical training and evening classes. Do not apply the four-year format to that route.
What subjects are required for undergraduate engineering?
The verified academic school route requires recognised HSC/Class 11 and 12 study with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. TNEA sets 45% general and 40% for the specified Tamil Nadu reservation categories. Separate vocational and equivalence routes need their own assessment.
Who can use the FN/OCI route?
The college explicitly lists 16 regular four-year engineering programmes for foreign-national/OCIadmission. Applicants need 12 years of schooling, 45% PCM average, English medium or English as a school subject, and the scheme documents. Selection remains provisional pending the relevant authorities.
Do those overseas approvals cover every course?
No. The 2026–27 approval table distinguishes regular undergraduate engineering from Mechanical Sandwich and postgraduate courses. This page restricts the latter to verified domestic routes; a general overseas-admission statement does not establish every programme’s availability.
What is the teaching language?
The current college FN/OCI admission page explicitly states English as the institution’s medium of instruction. Applicants should check the selected programme’s current teaching and assessment arrangements and any separate language-entry conditions.
When did first-year cohorts join?
The verified undergraduate orientation baseline is 17 August 2026. The official 2025–26 calendar separately lists first-year ME/MTech class work 21 August 2025, MCA reopening 6 August 2025 and PSGIM MBA class work 18 August 2025. These dated cohorts do not announce future availability.
How do postgraduate qualifications differ?
Each engineering master’s has an exact accepted-degree and branch list. MCA has separate degree, Mathematics, marks and education-pattern conditions. The PSGIM institutional MBA route requires 60% in a recognised bachelor’s degree, while MBA Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship requires 55%.
Are tuition amounts confirmed?
Request an itemised quote for the exact degree, admission category and funding choice. General fee categories do not establish programme-specific annual tuition or the FN/OCI schedule. Separate university charges, deposits, practical training and campus logistics/meal arrangements costs before budgeting.
Is the sandwich training charge included?
The TNEA brochure states that an additional practical-training charge applies to sandwich study and will be notified by the Principal at admission. Obtain that amount and the complete five-year academic budget before paying.
Does a counselling call guarantee admission?
No. Academic eligibility, selection or ranking, original-document verification, applicable category permissions and authority confirmation remain required. Complete the exact college and admission-system steps for the selected programme.
Is accommodation automatic?
campus logistics accommodation requires a separate allocation process. Ask about current availability, room rules, deposits, meal arrangements costs and reporting arrangements; a course offer does not confirm a room or an individual dietary provision.
