Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai: Hostel & Accommodation

The college’s institutional profile records a boys’ hostel, but applicants should confirm current vacancies, eligibility, room type, charges and residence rules separately. An academic offer does not automatically reserve a hostel place. Compare hostel and private-housing options with travel to the Mylapore campus and the exact session or practical attendance requirements.

The current Evening prospectus describes a canteen offering breakfast, lunch, tiffin and snacks. Ask about current menu, prices, hours and dietary or allergy requirements before budgeting. Food and accommodation are separate from academic tuition unless expressly included in the selected arrangement; no particular cuisine or full meal plan is assumed.

The Mylapore campus combines academic departments, laboratories, library resources, smart classrooms, auditoriums and sports facilities. Students take part in subject associations, extension work, cultural activities and the institution’s value-based educational setting. Day and Evening courses follow separate admission and fee arrangements; confirm practical attendance and the final departmental timetable.

The current prospectus explicitly prohibits ragging and describes a written complaint route, alongside institutional conduct expectations. Obtain current emergency contacts and the process for raising concerns during admission or induction. Students should confirm health-care access, transport and accommodation arrangements separately, particularly for evening attendance and off-campus fieldwork. Students can approach monastics and teachers for emotional support and guidance in the institution’s educational setting. The college provides library and digital-learning resources, departmental support and career-preparation activities. Confirm current access, office hours, disability assistance and applicable scholarship or category-document requirements rather than assuming automatic benefits.
