Question 1

Is Shenzhen University a public university?

Accepted Answer

Shenzhen University was established in 1983. China’s 2026 Ministry of Education directory lists it in Shenzhen under Guangdong Province; it is distinct from Shenzhen Technology University, Shenzhen Polytechnic University and foreign-university institutes located in the city.

Question 2

Which undergraduate programmes are available in English?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 international catalogue stars International Business Administration, Financial Technology (WeBank ASEAN Class), and International Economics and Trade as English-taught. Each lasts four years. Business and FinTech are at Yuehai; International Economics and Trade is at Lihu.

Question 3

Which master’s programmes are taught in English?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 international catalogue stars Foreign Languages and Literature and Area Studies, each two years, and Civil Engineering, three years. All three are listed at Yuehai campus. Chinese-taught programmes remain outside this English portfolio.

Question 4

Is the WeBank ASEAN Class restricted to ASEAN nationals?

Accepted Answer

No. The official programme introduction gives admission priority to ASEAN applicants and explicitly welcomes non-ASEAN applicants. It describes a four-year English-only Bachelor of Economics with economics, finance and computing study. Normal international admission conditions still apply.

Question 5

Are TESOC and Neurolinguistics separate degrees?

Accepted Answer

The current international catalogue lists one two-year Foreign Languages and Literature entry. Its introduction describes TESOC and Neurolinguistics as directions within the foreign-languages and applied-linguistics programme. This profile retains one parent offering rather than inventing separate awards.

Question 6

What are the undergraduate entry requirements?

Accepted Answer

Applicants normally need a high-school diploma and age 18–25, with good health and conduct. Under 18 applicants by 31 August provide the prescribed Power of Attorney. Relevant former-Chinese nationality cases must also satisfy the Ministry of Education document and overseas-residence requirements.

Question 7

What English test scores are required?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 undergraduate guide gives IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 or Duolingo 100 or above; native-speaker exemption requires university recognition. The master’s guide requires English proficiency evidence for non-native speakers but does not publish a numerical test minimum. Undergraduate scores must not be copied to the master’s requirements.

Question 8

Must master’s applicants contact a supervisor?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The master’s application procedure says to contact a potential supervisor and obtain the prescribed recommendation letter. Applicants also supply two professor/associate-professor references, their bachelor’s records and an approximately 800-word personal statement. A faculty interview may be requested.

Question 9

What tuition is published for these programmes?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 tariff is CNY 26,000/year for the three English undergraduate routes, which appear in the Liberal Arts category. Foreign Languages and Literature and Area Studies use the master’s Liberal Arts rate of CNY 30,000/year; Civil Engineering uses the Science and Engineering rate of CNY 35,000/year. These are historical 2026 quotes; 2027 pricing is unverified.

Question 10

When can I apply for the next intake?

Accepted Answer

The recorded undergraduate 2026 rounds were 1 January–20 March and 20 March–31 May; the master’s window was 1 January–31 May. Those dates have passed. No 2027 international undergraduate or master’s calendar has been verified, and the domestic 2027 examination calendar does not establish one.

Question 11

How much does accommodation cost?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 guide lists Yuehai single or twin rooms at CNY 2,400–8,000/person/semester and Lihu four-bed rooms at CNY 750/person/semester, plus water and electricity. Rooms are in short supply. Off-campus placement may cost more, and students must find their own housing if no university-arranged option is available.

Question 12

What other fees and insurance apply?

Accepted Answer

The application charge is CNY 400, with USD 60 also quoted as an alternative, and is non-refundable. Students buy the designated group comprehensive insurance at CNY 400/semester; registration is refused without it. Housing and personal living expenses are separate.

Question 13

How do I apply and register?

Accepted Answer

Register through the College of International Exchange website, choose the exact degree programme and upload the complete documents with the fee voucher. The university sends decisions and registration information electronically. Follow the admission notice for the date and location, since early registration is not accepted and original qualifications are checked again.
