Shiv Nadar University Chennai: Hostel & Accommodation

Undergraduates must select university hostel accommodation or university transport. First-year undergraduate hostel rooms are shared. The 2026-27 schedule lists shared non-AC room rent from INR 85,000 annually, with separate refundable deposits and hostel admission charges; attached-bathroom and AC categories cost more. Electricity and mess costs require separate confirmation before budgeting.

Campus accommodation and dining arrangements should be discussed together when obtaining a room quotation. The reviewed fee table does not establish a complete mess charge or a guaranteed dietary menu. Tell the university about allergies, religious food requirements or other dietary needs before accepting an accommodation allocation.

The Kalavakkam campus on Old Mahabalipuram Road has teaching laboratories, library services, student clubs and sporting facilities. Undergraduate students choose university hostel accommodation or university transport. Programme laboratories and project work connect classroom study with campus practical activity; the exact department and timetable determine daily use of these facilities.

The university publishes anti-ragging arrangements, an Internal Complaints Committee, a student grievance committee and anti-drug committee. Its student counselling service provides a support route for personal concerns. Confirm current contact details and the appropriate complaint channel at orientation; named services do not guarantee an individual safety outcome. Admissions teams assess category documents, qualification marks and programme preferences. The university publishes student counselling and grievance channels, an Equal Opportunity Cell and scholarship categories including merit, merit-cum-means, sports and Walk-in-Walk-out. Scholarship applications are invited after classes commence and remain subject to selection and current rules.
